   When we launched the boat from a marina on the west side of the Clyde we found that our Sleipner retractable bowthruster wasn't working, which I tracked down to a blown control fuse but in the process discovered evidence of a leak into the boat. I looked for a Sleipner agent but found none with any apparent experience of repairs on the West Coast and, looking for a spare part contacted Osmotech. I spoke to Simon who expressed concern over the leakage and suggested I send them a video and a couple of still photos of the leak, which I did. I received a phone call from Simon at 7.30am the next morning warning me that their expert had looked at the video and felt urgent attention was required. They could do it if we were closer to Southampton and so we explored possible lift out locations and came up with Cardiff, arranged a visit from their lead expert on these thrusters for about 4 weeks time. Everything worked like clockwork. John turned up as arranged at 9.30 on the allotted day. Commenced stripping down the thruster and soon showed me the rusted and failing bearings and seals. The thruster was stubborn after 10 years and it took John all day, working hard to strip the thruster down but by the end of thr day it was ready for re assembly. John stayed overnight, reassembled the thruster with new seals and bearings. He even reseated the thruster door which had been causing me trouble since new. Communications throughout were excellent and John clearly had a lot of invaluable experience. Highly recommended.

   Chris and Jack from Osmotech repaired my NC9 after a yacht collided with it leaving holes in the fibre glass, a dented rubbing strake and several scratches. They did a fantastic job, it all looks as good as new. I would definitely use this company again.
