   I came across Yvonne by pure luck at a time in my life when I didn’t even realise how much I needed her support. We were first connected through my job, and from our very first conversation, I felt heard and understood. I was able to open up about the challenges and anxieties I was facing at work, and Yvonne listened without any judgement. She helped me put my worries into perspective and guided me towards a healthier way of managing my thoughts and emotions. Do I still worry or get anxious? Of course — but thanks to Yvonne, I now have the tools to help myself through those moments. It’s been a few months since our last session, yet I still find myself thinking, “What would Yvonne say?” I can’t thank her enough for the difference she’s made in my life.

   Yvonne is an amazing therapist who I would recommend to anyone. I did 1-1 sessions with her and family sessions and the progress and growth we made in our time with her was so good, something I never thought I’d see. I’ve been to a few councillors and therapists before Yvonne but none of them were as in depth while being so gentle and not pushing me as her. Couldn’t thank her enough for the work she done and the effort she truly puts into her clients.

   Following 2+ years of counselling that my very disabled and vulnerable wife has had with Yvonne, my wife took a break due to matters becoming serious and my wife wanted to protect Yvonne from investigation. My wife has just received some very distressing news and approached Yvonne for help again. Initially Yvonne stated she wanted to get more involved in helping my wife, and suggested she went to Yvonne’s therapy room. Unfortunately, in the short time gap that occurred since her last visit, my wife has become seriously disabled and can barely walk. Yvonne’s therapy room is not accessible to any seriously disabled person, as it should be by law, and it was suggested that Yvonne visited my wife at our house. We were happy to pay the hourly fee and the mileage as per HMRC rates, but we did not expect the additional £170 for preparation and wind down, that she tried to charge. She has never in the 2+ years of counselling we have had, ever needed or charged a preparation fee or a winding down fee. On many previous visits the next client was waiting on the doorstep as we were leaving. My wife was extremely distressed in the first place which is why she asked to see Yvonne again, but Yvonne’s attitude and money grabbing approach has made the situation ten times worse. Her website says she provides counselling, yet she abused the rapport she had built up with my wife. She claims to specialise in working with Stress, Anxiety and Trauma but it doesn’t say she will cause the stress and anxiety in the first place. I did previously give Yvonne excellent feedback but that was before I saw her true side so I took it down. My wife has serious trust issues and always believed she could trust Yvonne, but clearly that is not the case, and my wife’s mental health is now deteriorating because of this. JUST BE WARNED THINGS AREN’T ALWAYS WHAT THEY APPEAR TO BE Check their credentials, remember positive feedback can be purchased, negative feedback is the better option. Just because someone says they are good doesn’t mean they are. A trained person helps with problems, they don’t go out of their way to make matters worse. There are polite and professional ways to refuse a client, but demanding fees not previously charged, and not showing on their price list, is definitely not acceptable. Also be aware, all the feedback is historical. Strange? Following a SAR request, Yvonne demanded an extra two months as her records were extremely complicated and involved. What she didn’t say was that her notes were scribbled comments with no evidence of how she intended to help or support my wife. She demanded an extension for what? To try to decipher her scribbles. Hardly a legal reason. All we received was pages of photocopied pages with scribbles on them. Extremely unprofessional. Also her accreditation requires her notes to be kept in a professional and orderly manner. Some of her notes have dates on, but many don’t. How does that equate to orderly. So what did we pay for? Someone that didn’t help and just took money! There is so much wrong that formal complaints are now being made to all relevant authorities

   Yvonne is amazing! She is very easy to talk to and so knowledgeable. Yvonne has always provided advice and guidance on the spot, no matter what issue or question I bring to her. I have found her practical suggestions particularly beneficial in helping me to develop in my role as a foster carer and meeting the needs of the children I support. She has also helped me to reflect and think about situations in a different way. This has enabled me to tackle subsequent challenges more confidently and effectively. I 100% recommend Yvonne's services.

   Yvonne counselled my children for a couple of different issues. My children love her! They loved going to see her. I was worried they would be reluctant to talk with anyone but they were always happy to go and were very productive in their sessions. Yvonne was incredible with them, tailored the sessions to suit the children, really got to know them and helped them massively in overcoming some issues they were having. I recommend Yvonne to friends and family based on how well she had treated my children and because she is fast and efficient in her methods. She's always honest. If she felt my children didn't require further counselling then she would tell me so. It's very comforting to know that me and my children have an amazing counsellor who we can reach out to.

   My children aged 9 and 11 suffered an unexpected bereavement of a very close family member. They were struggling to come to terms with the sudden loss and we had heard of Yvonne and how fantastic she is. My children have benefited immeasurably from their sessions. Yvonne is friendly , professional and above all very knowledgeable. We had strategies at home to help with emotions which made a huge difference . My son really does not engage well with strangers but Yvonne put him at ease immediately and I was most surprised how receptive he was , even asking to see her again! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Yvonne to any one of any age. All I can say is thank you and we’ll definitely be seeing you again! I feel like a weight had been lifted

   I went to see Yvonne for one specific reason and she ended up helping me deal with and sort through many things; things I didn’t even realise I needed to work through. Yvonne has helped me reprogram my thought process for the future and I am beyond grateful for all of her help! I was very nervous going into this, but Yvonne is excellent at her job and makes you feel comfortable and at ease right away! Thank you again for everything.

   Yvonne has been really helpful and also really accommodating. Happy to work around your schedule and through the telephone. She provides ways of not just understanding but also processing things. So much more than just talking it out which can make some people hesitant to reach out and I know I can always go back if I start to feel more support is needed. Thank you!
