I came to the shop with my father. Before entering Tesco, my father had purchased some items from NEXT UK. Inside Tesco, he was looking for a coat and I bought a shirt for myself. We paid in cash and were leaving the store when the security guard stopped us and demanded the receipt. At that moment we couldn’t find it as it had slipped inside the bag. When I questioned why a receipt was required when customers are sometimes not even given one, the security staff responded in an extremely rude and hostile manner, treating us as if we were criminals who had come to steal. He then said that if there was no receipt, we must go back to the counter. We usually do not take paper receipts to avoid unnecessary paper waste. After leaving, we found the receipt inside the bag and showed it to them. They simply looked at it and told us to go. I do not understand what kind of validation that was after publicly embarrassing us. This experience was humiliating and completely unacceptable. This was my first and absolutely last visit to Tesco. I regularly shop at Morrisons and have never experienced anything like this. Tesco should be ashamed of this behaviour and must properly train its staff to treat customers with basic respect and dignity.

Went to Tesco looking for a Christmas jumper. Ended up getting kicked out for walking down an escalator. We asked why we was being kicked out but the security woman just said leave and not to come back. All I wanted was a Christmas jumper and ended up being grabbed by the security woman with no explanation, told to leave and chased out when I was willingly leaving, not given a reason for being Kicked out. Should have listened to the endless one star reviews as everyone agreed on how poor and rude the staff were. I hope the cameras are checked and the woman who kicked us out for “walking down an escalator” is retrained in proper English and customer service. I think the only positive was the lady who told us where there could be other jumpers however, next time I see that woman I will ask for the manager and report her.

Very disappointed on our visit today. I worked for tesco for 19 years and I'm amazed at how far the standards have dropped. Following a visit to the deep, we first visited the tesco cafe for some lunch because we were starving and needed to do some shopping. Ordered our food and sat down at the nearest dirty table. There were three staff bringing out food. One older lady who looked extremely fed up and a younger girl who appeared to be mute. Another girl did bring us a filthy glass for my son which we had to exchange with no apology given but that was our only encounter with her. There were two or three other dirty tables to chose from covered in the last customers dirty plates on arrival. The staff just ignored this. Our drinks were brought to us by the younger girl and there was no acknowledgement of our existence whatsoever. We asked her to please wipe our table but were completely ignored so we instead asked the older lady who begrudgingly came and wiped it. Then the younger girl brought our food... Again nothing. Not even a confirmation of what the food was. Just dumped it in our table and away she went. Charming. To clarify the food was fine. No complaints with our food but the service needs serious work. I would expect at the very least a hello and let us know which plate of food is which when served. When we left the cafe there were seven dirty tables covered in plates. I'm guessing this is the older lady's job. No wonder she looked so fed up. The younger girl just can't be arsed. No tables were cleared the entire time we were sat there! Surely to god all of the serving staff can take the dirty plates away on the trays they're carrying back to the kitchen and then give the tables a quick wipe down? This is extremely basic stuff. They've got these god awful touch ordering screens now so surely the time saved there can be put to good use for Christ's sake? Basic hygiene and manners cost nothing. Tesco please educate your staff! Customer service was constantly drilled into me when I worked for you. It appears to be extremely lacking today and replaced with ignorance. To be clear we were shopping in the clothes department upstairs around 40 mins later and the tables still hadn't been cleared! To add to our delightful visit my son needed to use the toilet. Both the gents next to the cafe and the toilets downstairs were out of use! We had to trudge to the toilets in the shopping centre! Not good enough! Needless to say we won't be returning.

Very Rude staff, insulting people on the behalf of apperance and not serving them properly. No sense of talking. Went on counter my frd has id she was buying something they asked she showed and still asked for mine as it was with me in phone but not physically. We both are 26. If you are going in group all must have id for your existence no sense of rules as well. Even if parents are going to buy something with there child they must also have id of child othervise you won't be get served. Humiliated in all. Never visiting again there.

The blonde/caramel hair lady with glasses working in the trolley self service tills today (28/03) at 12:50pm was friendly and helpful. Good customer service.

Great Tesco, has everything you need with lots of product selection. The cafe was very good, we were extremely happy without vegetarian burgers which had lots of flavour, in fact they were a lot better then we were expecting. Good Tesco right by the train station.

The store is massive and has a huge amount of choice. The parking is excellent, and I've never struggled to get a space. The problem is the queuing in-store. Everyone knows the introduction of self-service tills wasn't for the customer's convenience. It was to reduce wages for the supermarkets for till staff. As a result, the waiting was horrendous (see picture), the tills to the left of the picture and towards the back of the store were closed, and this picture doesn't even show the length of each till queue down the isles, or the length of the self-service queue. Sort it out Tesco and put more till staff on during busy times. Please!

Always helpful and happy staff, even if they've had some challenging customers beforehand. Would definitely recommend. Only downside is that the cleaning cycle seems to lack, especially when it comes to their public toilets.

Not the shop it used to be! Feels more like an oversized superstore than an Extra these days. Over the last few years they’ve done away with the meat/fish counters, electrical desk, click/collect, Max Spielman, 24 hour opening times, probably other things I’m forgetting to mention too. Plus large parts of the store have been closed off from customers for storage although you can see from the foyer that the back of the mezzanine is bare! Used to work for the store myself until three years ago; I barely see any staff when I come in these days and those I do see are not faces I recognise from my time working there.
