Excellent quality fish and chips from Whistler’s. Highly recommended. Perfectly cooked crisp, thick cut chips. Fish also cooked just right with a nice thin, crisp batter. Good sized portions especially of the chips and fair prices. I will definitely return when next down on Hayling Island.
We used Whistler’s for the second year running to cater a very large order, and once again, they were absolutely fantastic. On Monday, they delivered around 120 portions of fish and chips, all on time, still warm, and every bit as delicious as you'd hope for. The quality of the food was consistently excellent – crisp, golden batter, perfectly cooked chips, and everything was clearly made with care. Our whole group was really impressed, and not a single portion went to waste! A special thank you to Sophie, the manager, who was incredibly helpful and supportive throughout the whole process. She made coordinating such a large order feel effortless with her professionalism and friendly approach. The entire team was lovely to deal with – polite, cheerful, and clearly dedicated to great service. Whistler’s has once again earned our trust and appreciation. We wouldn’t hesitate to use them again and highly recommend them for both small meals and large group catering. Thank you, Whistler’s!
We were told it was the best fish & chips on Hayling and they were right! Really friendly service, quick & delicious food. Places can be hostile without realising towards the LGBT+ community but they didn't misgender my wife & wished us a happy wedding anniversary! Did the chips in a separate box to make it easier to divide up on the beach and made sure we had plenty of napkins, sauces and forks! The scampi was so fresh and the chips were fabulous! Walking in lovely staff. Food didn’t take long to order.the price of the food was also quite good. Portion sizes are decent but only thing was that the chips had been in oil t that needed changing and made the chips not look very nice or taste good. One thing I would say is don’t moan about your job or other customers while there are customers in the shop. I have head good reviews on this chippy so hopefully it was just a one off.
Amazing chips. They were perfect tonight. Straight out of the fryer, golden and delicious. Had the local butchers sausage in batter and the flavour was amazing. Couldn’t ask for more.
Sadly this was not as expected. We ordered Haddock, cod and half a chicken with 3 small chips and curry sauce. The batter on both fish was way overcooked, the chicken was extremely dry. Curry sauce was very nice! Spending over £30 on 3 meals I would have e expected better.
Had a small hake which turned out to be enormous, croquette, and pineapple fritter. The croquette and fritter were truly amazing and the fish was pretty good!
Disgusting food. Chips were chalky, flavourless and dry. Fish portion was more batter than fish. Savloys were cold and waited 20 minutes for this abortion to be brought out. Despite being desperately hungry, not one of the 5 of us finished the food. Even the dogs turned their noses up when we gave it to them.
Disappointed. £12 for 2 portions of small cod and chips. The cod was miniscule and dry. The chips were nice. The cod in the picture is as I received it. I would have complained had I not driven to the beach and then opened it.
