Absolutely disgraceful service!! Delivery took over an hour after the time to arrive!! The delivery driver had an appalling attitude when told the food was cold and didnt actually care and seemed to have walked round
Thought i had covid couldn't taste anythin, literally tastes of water all three dishes obviously reheated as ordered at 5pm so reheated from night before Won't use again
What has happened to the China Garden? This used to be one of the best take aways in Pompey. Just ordered a chicken curry which was totally tasteless. Loads of onion, not much chicken and certainly no spice/curry. This is the last time I will be going here unless they get their act together. All these bad reviews can't be wrong and the owners can't even be bothered to respond!!
Food was amazing, ordered £80 worth of food (did get 25% off via just eat) food took 1 hour and 45 minuets to arrive. I understand this happens sometimes especially when busy but when I called and asked politely what the ETA was on the food the gentleman on the phone said well we have other orders to deal with too you know, we are busy. No apology, no custom service just a rude horrible man giving me grief. It's a shame that the food was so good but I won't be returning to line the pockets of people with attitude like that.
Had fabulous delivery prompt friendly service and loads of food. Highly recommended.
Waited an hour then phoned up asking where it was. To find out they didn't even have it on. So had to wait another half hour. When the food turns up was warm. Not hot. Curry was thick. If the place is busy shouldn't be taking orders.
Previously good... gone downhill. Mock duck pancakes excellent, rice and noodles good. Prawn curry sauce congealed and plonked on top of prawns .... Same with Thai green curry. Very very salty Thai curry ...couldn't eat. Won't be using again.
So, tried the China Garden after a 2 year absence and would like to post an honest review. *King prawns in salt and pepper - excellent. Big prawns and plentiful too. *BBQ spare ribs- tender and meaty, but sauce need to be richer to give that sweet sticky taste. *Chicken curry - lots of it, but the sauce used was not very flavourful and a bit powdery tasting, like it’s not cooked through. *Egg fried rice - very nice and plentiful. *Free mini spring rolls - nice touch! We will go back and use again, but there are so many dishes on the menu (inherited from previous owner), that I wonder if reducing and specialising would be the way forward?
