Went to the Stag for Sunday lunch, had roast pork. Could not fault it, service very good friendly staff . Food so tasty , crispy roast potatoes, lots of lovely veg including my favourite cauliflower cheese. Really enjoyed the whole experience. Thank you.
Came before music gig on a thursday. Pub was full of dogs, people and 'the curry club' a bunch of lovely older guys all enjoying the log fire on a freezing night. We were immediately greeted and welcomed by staff and punters alike. We went with the recommendation to try the pies list - wow what a selection. We started off with prawn cocktail and breaded mushrooms which were old school perfect and the pies were gorgeous with loads of creamy mash and veg. Several places to choose in westbourne, we were glad we tried this pub first. Great atmosphere, great food and a super nice time. Thanks!
Wow, what a wonderful experienced, cosy & friendly pub, nice open log fire, We ate there last night my husband had beer battered fish & the chef asked him what beer he would like in batter Wow I had cottage pie, lovely fresh vegetables. This is what our UK pubs should be like Service was excellent with friendly staff Thank you, we will come again. Shame it’s a long journey for us, we live on New Forest Jean & Simon
Wow, 3 of us called in for an impromptu Sunday roast and so glad we did. A lovely friendly village pub with great ales and serving a fabulous lunch from the carvery. I've never had better roast beef anywhere, sirloin from the local butcher and cooked to perfection along with a great range of veg. I will be back. Thank you!

First time in this pub and it was very friendly the food was great and a good verity from the menu, will be back soon.
We came here for breakfast on Sunday due to we checked it will open at 0830. Even they have a board by the entrance said open at 0830 - but it is not true. We drove from Portsmouth to here and found out the info was wrong. Hungry! Hungry! Hungry!
First time going to this pub, we went for a Sunday carvery. The food was nice and it was good quality veg and local meats. The landlord and lady couldn't have been any nicer and made a lovely fuss over my 1 year old and were very happy to give him a little extra attention - which always goes down well! Deserts cover a good range of options and round off the meal very nicely. The pub dog was super well-behaved and friendly. Lovely, welcoming atmosphere.
Very nice cosy friendly village pub - recently refurbished. Stopped by for an afternoon drink and a catch up. Menus now uploaded.
We arrived last minute today for a roast. The staff were fantastic, friendly and sorted us out a table right away. We weren’t kept waiting long at all. There was a carvery and we had a delicious serving of roast pork & turkey, the roast vegetables were fresh and very tasty. I would highly recommend the Stags Head, best roast I have had in a very long time. Definitely will be back! Thank you
