We had a lovely Christmas dinner. The place was festively presented. The food delicious and the staff very friendly. I will definitely go again.

Christmas lunch with colleagues, which all were looking forward to, and had high expectations after previous visits. What a disappointment! Starters were fine for all, then the main courses. Pigs with no blankets, veg so overcooked as to be bendy, stuffing you could tile the roof with, roasties you couldn't cut, and yorkshire puddings that couldn't spell yorkshire! Desserts all good, especially the Christmas pudding and chocolate brownies, but Eton Mess should have ice cream and meringue. Add to this the fsct thst the service was slow, we had to ask for our plates to be cleared 15 minutes after we finished our mains, and general lack of interest by the staff, looks like we'll be finding a new fave place going forward

We have on occasion popped to the Fishermanβs rest for a drink: This evening we happened to come home to a power cut so called ahead to see if there were tables available. When we arrived, we were seated straight away. When we ordered we were informed there was no bacon. We asked if we could have pulled pork with the burger as a swap which was accommodated and my husband said it was delicious. I had the sirloin steak which was beautifully cooked. Some of the best onion rings I have had in a long time. Other members of our party had scampi which looked golden. Those who had dessert were pleased that they opted for the mini dessert and a drink option as this was just enough. Lovely, friendly service. We will definitely pop by again - even for a drink.

Went for dinner today - 16th November. Didnβt bother booking, thought would be quiet, how wrong can you be. Staff excellent, arranging a table for us. Food superb. I had the fish and chips, my wife the sausage, mash with Yorkshire pud. All cooked perfectly, lovely atmosphere, very relaxing. Would highly recommend. Oh, if you do decide to go, I advise booking

Nice local pub a little off the beaten track and away from any large built up housing. Reasonable parking area to the rear and a beer garden. Opposite the remains of Titchfield Abbey and a garden centre. The Sunday Special 'Duo of Beef' was inspirational and better than I have eaten in a long time. Well done the Chef.

Visited in early October with a friend. Staff were very pleasant, good ambiance in the place. Food was lovely, , plates were huge but delicious. My only criticism was that we waited ages for a dessert menu and by that time the restuarant was not busy. Staff seemed young and inexperienced, maybe more supervision required? Otherwise a good experience, thank you .
