Ordered a takeaway from here a couple of times and they have forgotten the onion bhajees both times. I appreciate the free items like salad and sauces but I would rather have the items I ordered & paid for. Otherwise good prices, ok food and quick arrival times but probably won’t order again for this reason.
Just ordered an Uber Eats from T & J Mahal while away on business. Scallop starter & a king prawn biriani. ABSOLUTELY STUNNING... seriously the food was amazing. I'm from the North and curry's in Portsmouth have been pretty disappointing but I will go back to this place 100%. Trust me
My friends and myself have visited this place a few times, and on every visit the food has been fantastic, the staff were great, and the Irish Coffees were spot on. Lovely atmosphere with great people.

We found the T&J Mahal completely by accident, my wife and I had been to see a show in Portsmouth and wanted to find a curry restaurant that would still be open at 11pm on a Saturday night. Wow, I am really into my curries, and I have to say that it was one of the best I have ever had, the menu is varied and includes the classic dishes along with their specialities, I thoroughly recommend the Zallnaga. The staff were really attentive and friendly. I will definitely visit T&J Mahal again if ever I am in the area, this is a real gem in the Bangladeshi restaurant crown .
Just had a delivery, and it was excellent! Really fresh, lovely meat, piping hot and super tasty! The complimentary poppadoms and relishes were a lovely touch (and quickly eaten). Thank you! Will certainly be back!
Got take out. Couldn’t eat the tikka makhani. It was too oily, got put off at first glance. The lamb curry was bland and not spicy enough. The samosas would have been nicer if they were restaurant made. The naans were warm.
Home delivery review. Food turned up wonderfully presented and hot. A couple of free poppadoms included, which is always appreciated! All very tasty and will certainly use again.
Low quality food. Curry is tasteless and sauces are coloured using food colouring. Mint sauce is glowing like its radiated. There are much better Indian places around the city, which actually care about their food.
