Chips very greasy, far from the best chip shop chips I've had. Cash only, they seem obsessed with only accepting cash looking at all the posters and signs all over the walls. I know accepting card payments costs them but they need to get with modern times, smaller businesses manager so don't see why they can't. They'd probably say they have to increase their prices if they did but it's already more expensive than a lot of other fish and chip shops that I use and not as nice. The person that served us could do to learn how to smile at customers too.

Was visiting our son at uni so did a quick google search for a decent chippy (the boy hasn't had one since leaving home) well this little gem popped up so thought we'd give it a try, we wasn't disappointed, the fish (cooked in beef dripping) was lovely, the batter perfectly crisp and very tasty, and if that wasn't enough, the price was very reasonable. The staff was very welcoming and friendly, we'll definitely be visiting again.

Wow! Totally underrated Fish and Chip takeaway. Visiting the area and we tried two other fish and chip takeaways that claimed to be award winning. Thought we would try this one as it wasnβt far off our route for traveling back to our accommodation. What luck we had. Batter was light and crispy, fish was meaty and cooked to order. Chips were fresh and hot. Wife had sausage and it was one of the best sheβs ever had she said. Owners were very welcoming and knew their regulars well. If in the area definately give them a try. Excellent portion sizes and very helpful. I forgot to take a picture of the menu board as the prices are very slightly higher than the photos I looked at on google but they are still excellent value! Not 100% but possibly fried in beef dripping as well and not vegetable oil.

Absolutely, love this place we go out of our way to come here it's so nice. His big sausages are so moist and the fish is so meaty he will skin it for you too. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. My whole family come here and my friends too. BEST fish shop in Hull!

Jim's is a traditional fish and chip shop, and the food is cooked in beef dripping. You can taste the difference. The fish is all cooked fresh to order, and the portions are a generous size. The patties are light and fluffy with just the right amount of Sage, and the batter was perfect. There is a good choice of side dishes, sausages, peas curry, etc, and there is a kids menu. The staff are very friendly, and there is a sign saying they were voted the best fish and chip shop in Hull 2023. Jim's is a good chippy, you won't be disappointed.

First time coming to Jims and can honestly say the best fish and chips i have had in Hull. Gravy was to die for and i judge on the quality of Patties. Honestly the best ever. Very cheap and excellent quality of fish. Will definitely be regulars now from The Gardeners Country Inn team.

Whenever we are in Hull we go out of our way passing so many fish and chip shops to go to Jimβs. Why? They are simply the best. The quality cannot be beaten. The fast and efficient service is excellent. Telephone orders spot on which is also important with my busy schedule. Whatβs more itβs all served with a smile. What more can you ask for?
