Edit : perhaps last time was a misunderstanding on my behalf and communication issue with ordering system, I tried again and the staff was lovely and informative. I guess my frustration was mixed with hunger and tiredness. For this reason I’ve change my review. original post: I have been happy in the past as this is the only takeaway with an online service in this area. However recent experience has let me down, order not processed for 60 mins. When calling to be told the system wasn’t working but miraculously did when I called indicates a reason for debate. Then to be told another 30mins, for delivery wasn’t a good experience at all. Whilst I appreciate weekends are busy this is not the type of service I’m normally given with previous online orders. When the food does arrive I’m discovering a piece of paper in my food. I will not be ordering from here again.
Well where to start, we ordered our food which took forever to arrive when it did, the duck we ordered tasted foul and of soap, which was un eatable, so we told the waitress, and her response was, your still going to have to pay for it, because you tasted it. To our shock she was adamant we was paying for it. So we had to nearly get into an argument about. Whilst this was happening we herd the same thung going on another table aswell. Dont waste your time at this so called restaurant.
Just had a fantastic meal from Lotus Garden and it was spot on. Everything was fresh, piping hot, and full of flavour. We had special fried rice, beef chow mein, crispy chilli beef, plus prawn toast and spring rolls - and every dish hit the mark. Portions were generous, the food was delicious, and the price was far more reasonable than we expected. Definitely a new favourite.
We just had a Chinese takeaway from Lotus Garden, ordered a set meal for 2, cost less than £20. The food was good portion and delicious, definitely will use them again.
Always get a great meal here, whether it's a takeaway or in the restaurant. Pricing is also very good.
We ordered a king prawn chop suey and according to the owners got a vegetable one, which we didn't order !!!! 6 prawns 2 pieces of brocolli and 4 pieces of carrot. ! No bean sprouts, no mushrooms, nothing tasty! please see the picture of the chop suey bits. The prawns did get eaten with the rice. But why was this sent as a delivery if this is not what was ordered. Think the owners have got complacent as we have ordered regularly over the last 3 months and its been ok. We will not be ordering again.
Excellent food, excellent service, reasonable price, the mains were a perfect size for one. The mixed starter was superb value, size and quality, and the fillet steak was excellent. They did fit us in without a booking on a Saturday night (early, just before 6) but it's not a huge place so I'd recommend booking for busy nights and times, as you may not be so lucky.
