Great fish and chips shop. They've always got some amazing deals on. They are currently doing a few festive items on the menu. Festive Chips are amazing (chips with stuffing, battered pigs in blankets, pulled meats and gravy!).

Some of the chips we had were burnt. Yes, they were black on one side and you could taste the burntness. Was as if they had been sitting against something hot for a while or reheated. Was a large piece of fish but it was quite watery and not overly meaty. Batter was crispy. Was a bit disappointed as it had been given great reviews but I felt it was very standard and nothing special, especially with the poor chip quality.

The best fish n' chip shop in Hull (which means the UK). East Park, Cave Street, Kingfisher are fantastic..... but Pollards is cheaper and better tasting. All done in beef dripping, absolutely Gorgeous. #1 in Hull

Pollards Plaice is a stone's throw from several fabulous chippies, but I felt it outshone the competition in a couple of areas. Firstly, before the haddock was dipped in the hot beef dripping, it was dredged through a secret dry flour, herb, and spice mix, then coated in the wet batter. It was delicious. The haddock itself was thick, fresh, and packed with flavour, encased in a crisp, light, and tasty batter. The chips were just as I like themβ€”thick, golden, with a light crispiness and tender potato. The mushy peas were sweet and tasty, though I’d have liked them a little thicker. The staff were wonderfully friendly and polite, and there were also tables and chairs available. I have been into Pollards a few times now I decided to go again last night and each time it's been fantastic Beautiful Fish - I like to get a large Cod and my family prefers Haddock this is one of the few rare places that sell Cod at the moment price wise for 1 large Cod is Β£5.50 same for Haddock & Large chips 2 quid so a bargain price It's about a 20 minute walk for me, but it's well worth the journey Far superior to the other fish shops in my area

First time visiting and they did not disappoint. Served by Marie and the service was amazing. Out for the day with a couple of 7 year olds which are the pickiest of customers but both were extremely happy with the food. They have a really good choice of patties that made a fresh change. Chips were perfect. We were going to take out but the shop was so clean it made us want to eat in. Toilets were immaculate and overall the place was impeccably clean. Could not fault it at all. Will definitely be returning and would highly recommend. Well done on service and establishment.

Never been in here before but we will definitely be visiting again. Staff are friendly and helpful with a smile. Food is delicious. Patties are tasty with a light, crispy batter and chips are nice and chunky. We had already ordered when we learned about the chorizo patty. Can't wait to try that one.
