I have tried to exchange a pair of sandals here as they were unsuitable however outside 28 days of refund policy - not flexible at all even though i didnt want a refund - disappointing as i am a regular customer.
My girlfriend wanted to find a pair of black jeans so asked an assistant if they had any, the assistant said no and on our way back out the shop we came across some. I think the staff need a bit more training about what is and what isn't available in store.
I have just visited River Island in Whiteley and could not have received better service. A lady with short hair greeted me and was so helpful in sorting through my retuns and exhanges/stock checking for an exchange, went beyond great service and was super friendly. I said to my patient 11 yo son, that was an example of really good service and someone who is fabulous at their job. Well done and thank you for all your help. Spot on!!

Difficult to get the attention of staff who were chatting together by the till, when we did, they weren't really very willing to help with our enquiry
Nice clothes but the staff are very snooty if you go in there with a pushchair and dressed in casual mum clothes they immediately think you're a shoplifter they make it quite obvious their following you pretending to shuffle the clothes also staring appearing wherever you go. I find this insulting as I have never stolen and spend alot of money in their stores but when they do this I just walk out as it makes me feel uncomfortable. It's the same in the Portsmouth River island and stores like QUIZ and H&M I don't have this problem anywhere else. I wonder if anyone else who is a mum or has a pushchair or looks young gets treated like this their obviously told to look out for people like that. I understand people do steal but don't stereotype and discriminate people in such a obvious way that are good customers! More training needed for staff and customer service.
They had some great reductions here. The girls were very helpful helping me find items and helping match an outfit. They also ordered a couple of items on line for me as my size was not available in store
