This restaurant was a wonderful surprise. The menu was great and it was difficult to decide what to have. We made our choices and were very pleased. The portions were very generous and the service was fantastic! I would advise making a reservation.

Called in here after we were unable to get a booking anywhere near by on Easter Sunday (we started off on the Strangford side) We were able to walk in and get a table for 4 - the food was absolutely incredible and really fairly priced for the quality. Service was very good too. Such a super wee restaurant - will definitely be back!

It’s a wet and windy April night as I came across from Downpatrick on the ferry! I asked the ferryman where I could get some good food? His immediate response was Captain Jacks! Thank you to the ferryman. I had the hand made burger fully dressed with smoked bacon and loads of melted cheese, absolutely delicious! The Smokey relish was so good too. The atmosphere was great, the service was very good. Very professional young ladies were polite and efficient. Very pleased with my visit!

Delicious dinner after a busy day sightseeing. Lovely staff and the food were yummy: recommend the haddock. Kids menu and kids ate it all their dinner - however no colouring in offered so got bored quickly. Also sat beside electric heating and were all roasted: all red faced by time we had left from the heat. Apart from that we loved it. Would go, back.

1000/10 honestly one of the nicest places I've ever had for food. And service was brilliant. I'm gluten free and they couldn't have done anything more to cater for me the chef himself even came out and ask me was everything okay would I like anything more and explained that he could adapt most meals to be gluten free so I will most definitely be returning. Thanks

Friendly staff. Huge meal, good value for money (£14 I think for chicken burger with fries and £6 for the kids meal) very tasty food!! 10/10, nice clean restaurant. Just stumbled accross it, but would go back!

The food here is amazing. If you are in the area you should definitely eat here. They have a diverse menu that includes vegan and vegetarian options. I had the special fillet steak and it was perfect. Came with a delicious side of fried onion strings and baked pepper mushrooms. Wife had the veggie burger and it tasted much better than your usual American bean burger. The atmosphere is humble and local. Portaferry has a lot of history and you can smell and taste it at this great little gem. Bring GBP if you want to tip. I paid with card and there was no line for tipping so I felt bad.
