   I've been to a lot of 'Spoons. This one seemed different... It was very busy when we arrived, but a staff member immediately cleaned a table, and explained that they had been very busy. The drinks arrived promptly, and instead of just being delivered, they were delivered with warmth and a genuine smile. We ordered food, and it was above the standard of most 'Spoons (it was hot, for a start). I wish I had taken the time to learn the staff members names that served me so that I could praise them accordingly... Every member seemed to actually be happy to be there. The gents have to be the cleanest and most hygienic of any Wetherspoon pub I have ever entered. Orders of magnitude better than the shambles that is The Crown in Fareham. Well done to the entire team

   Good atmosphere in this popular spoons. I was looking forward to this as it was my last JDW in Hampshire that I needed to tick off. I also enjoyed the novelty of getting a small ferry to it from Portsmouth. I had a good ale followed by a simple beef madras and an unfiltered Stella. An enjoyable hour on my lonesome. Would return here if nearby.

   Food was warm and took a very long time to arrive, table was dirty and I had to ask for it to be cleaned. I was told it had been but on inspection, it was eventually cleaned. Service was mediocre and felt I was imposing when I asked questions. The atmosphere was loud and rowdy with many kids running about and parents doing little to prevent this. All in all, it’s NOT some where I would go to eat again.

   Small fronted establishment that is deceptive in size as it is narrow but goes back a long way. Pub is on one floor with toilets upstairs & outside seating available front and back. Pub was quiet when we visited at 0930 on a Saturday morning with a mixed bag of customers young & old taking advantage of a cheap breakfast. Prices are typical Spoons for food & alcohol.

   Its fine. Very entertaining. Loud unruly customers need to be dealt quickly. As the language is obscene. But you allways get that at any pub. Bar staff sould be quicker to act.
