I’ve just had one of the strangest and most unprofessional interactions and I strongly urge the manager to listen to this call. My first call with the receptionist was fine, she gave me clear information about their care plan etc. A few minutes later, I called back to book two appointments for my cats, expecting a straightforward process. Instead, it turned into a strange and baffling experience! When she began registering my details, I mentioned that one of my cats was already registered. She insisted we weren’t on the system, which was fine so I asked her to simply register us again (several times), explaining that my husband my husband had bought our cat in and registered. I even gave the receptionist my cat’s name to help locate the record. Rather than assisting to register us, she repeatedly told me we weren’t registered and then bizarrely suggested I β€œtry Companion Care” instead, a completely different veterinary company, located much further away! I’ve never used or even heard of them, and I can’t understand why a receptionist would direct a potential customer to a competing business instead of helping them register?! The whole experience was unhelpful, confusing, and frankly unacceptable. If this is how new clients are treated, I have no interest in trusting this practice with my pets’ care!

Took our bulldog here on 3 occasions and have never been happy. They are obviously not familiar with English bulldogs & are there to meet targets. Told to back our dog into a corner so they could try and look at him. On another visit she couldn't look at him & I managed to put dye in his eye. No confidence & interaction to make him feel safe. We took him to specialist in Hitchin as would rather pay money to have him examined correctly. The whole experience at Bedford vets for pets left us & our pet totally stressed. Even the revisit was terrible with extra charges. The reception staff took a call while I was there and the person was obviously stressed & receptionist said she would talk to the vet. On putting the phone down she made no attempt to speak to anyone & chatted away to the other receptionist even though the vet was free. The poor person was waiting for a call back and probably never which just added to the whole lack of confidence in this vets. They have been taken over and all I can say is do not use. Might be better with small animals who knows. Never again. It cost Β£150 for medication you could buy for Β£20. Disgusting!!!

Not actually pet related but our car was involved in an accident on the London Rd during the recent heavy winds. Our car had be towed away but during the wait we asked if it was OK for my wife to use the toilet facilities of Vets4Pets. The reception staff were so pleasant and helpful. We would like to thank them for their help during a very stressful morning.

Not impressed with the receptionists, .no hello, no goodbye, I was just ignored.Usually my husband comes with our pets, this time I was with my cat and was expecting a more friendly attitude especially we are paying significant sum of money for treatment for our pets .Politeness costs nothing but valued very highly. However , the vets are good.

Please read. Our cat had a dental surgery which left a hole in her gum. She had to have this cleaned out every few days until one of the vets, who was confused why we were still bringing her in informed us it had fully healed so she no longer required medication or cleaning. A month later she became extremely unwell, we discovered food still stuck inside her gum and took her to the practice, however she was euthanised due to now being in heart failure. We were never informed if this was related. We were made aware our dog had a heart murmur in his senior years but as he was otherwise in good health this was not investigated. Upon a routine blood test for his medication showing a possible heart issue, and being informed the murmur had gone up a grade we opted for investigations to determine the cause. He was then diagnosed with a heart disease and prescribed medication. After a few days on medication he went for a check up, we were told he looked well and he had another routine blood test. The next day we were contacted with the results and told some levels were slightly high and we should change him to a new diet but nothing else was picked up. Two days later he collapsed so we took him to the practice as an emergency. We were eventually called in by the same vet who told us our cat was healed. He was the only vet in the building and was visibly tired. Even though we said our dog had abdominal pain he just checked the notes and told us our dog was in heart failure due to his recent diagnosis without checking his heart beat or respiratory rate. He also attempted to tell us our dog was completely blind (which was false), clapped repeatedly in our dog’s face and told us he was completely deaf (again false) and old so therefore we should euthanise him due to poor life quality which we immediately declined as this was misinformation with no clear diagnosis. He gave him an injection to try to β€˜perk him up’ and sent us home with him. Our dog never did β€˜perk up’ he was left with us at home in excruciating pain and urinating all over himself until we reluctantly took him back to the same vet after numerous calls complaining to the reception team but being given no other options to see anyone else. Again the vet attempted to tell us he was in heart failure based on his notes, we repeatedly asked for this to be confirmed as we did not believe this to be the case and cannot euthanise without knowing why, he only offered to refer us to a cardiologist which would take days/weeks. We were told there was nobody in the building qualified to use the equipment required to diagnose the cause but that we should just euthanise anyway. Our whole family expressed dissatisfaction over the lack of diagnosis, lack of help and lack of respect our dog was receiving, the vet laughed multiple times and then attempted to walk out of the room and leave our dog collapsed on the table as there was nothing else he was willing to do and told us to take him away. We left the practice and drove him to a different vets who told us heart failure was not the cause and we were given the correct diagnosis of a ruptured abdominal tumour. Due to our dog at this point now being extremely unwell and having suffered all day we decided to put him to sleep. Still unsure why this tumour was never picked up in any of the recent the examinations or blood tests conducted by Vets4Pets prior to this. We attempted to raise a complaint surrounding both of our pets deaths to the practice manager who never bothered to contact us in person, apologise or refund us for the treatment we received or accept any wrongdoing at all. We then attempted to raise the negligence complaint to the Vets4Pets investigation team who also refused to speak to us in person or accept any wrongdoing. Sadly both of our pets are no longer with us and both suffered as a result of this practice. I just hope this review can prevent this happening to others. There are plenty of other veterinary practices much better than this one. Vets4Pets are a commercial chain and more interested in money than pets.

Great service from the vet Koren, who explained everything clearly, was patient with my dog, and gave me clear guidance as far as the next steps.

I would like to thank all the team at the surgery for caring and supporting my 18 Yr old cat Perks who was sadly put to sleep several weeks ago due to ill health. I thank each and everyone of you but in particular, Tracey, Wendy, Natalie and Nicole who dealt with my loss and they were so supportive as its not an easy loss.

Absolutely do not recommend! Tried to charge me for a service I’d paid for 2 months prior. The receptionist I spoke to was very rude, made a complaint to dispute the charge then they de-registered my dog without any correspondence or helping to solve my complaint. Was also advised in the summer time to leave my 4 year old daughter in the car while I had my dogs annual checkup and boosters. It was a very hot day and they asked me to leave my child in a hot car!!!!!!!

We see Nicole shes been great with our dog banjo. He lost the use of his back legs high temperature then eye sight went she's managed to diagnosis and treat him quickly. It's been a long 6 weeks with treatments but he got the use of his legs again within 10 days and his eye sight a could of weeks later. he can see again but may have some long term cloudy dry eyes. We won't see anyone else other than her as she's been amazing throughout.
