Had a reservation through booking.com The hotel refused to honour it due to them having issues with booking.com Eventually had to pay the hotel so I could get a room (they had me over a barrel due to Beverley being completely full due to the races). So out of pocket and trying to claim back from booking.com To make it worse I tried calling for 3 days prior to my visit (should have rang alarm bells) but couldn’t get through. According to the manager the brewery/owners won’t allow them to have a telephone line!! Shockingly managed. What I would say if they ever got themselves sorted they have a decent pub/hotel. Rooms are nice. Walkable to Beverley. On site parking. Just the whole situation has left a sour taste. So for the moment avoid.

I stayed at the Game Bird for three night while cycling in the area. The room was big and clean. Excellent bathroom with large walk in shower. A lively bar downstairs with food and drink but no problem with noise. Staff were friendly and helpful. Car park behind the building. Handy for nights out in Beverley.

The Game Bird is a solid choice for a laid-back drink or a bit of friendly competition. With a well-maintained pool table and darts setup, it’s perfect for anyone who enjoys a game alongside their pint. The staff are friendly and helpful, adding to the welcoming vibe. A nice, straightforward pub that knows how to keep its patrons happy.

The room was clean, bed comfortable and ensuite working. The pub was quaint and comfortable, with out door seating available. The staff were great, welcoming and friendly. Unfortunately there was no food on offer, as the kitchens were undergoing renovations. (July 2023). There is a free carpark at the rear, and a petrol station up the road. There is a bus that travels along the road, but we didn't need to use it as we had our own car.

I had a great stay last week. Chaotic travel to Beverley so it was fantastic to get such a welcoming stay. I had lovely beer, massive comfy room, nice conversation and even a couple of rounds of cards. Next morning I was treated to a great full English breakfast. What a find! Certainly recommend staying, and would be a pub I'd enjoy have a few pints at too

We were supposed to have a Ladies Darts Meeting there last Thursday 5th May on the Evening. Very disappointing as no one had let us know the pub was closed and we had to conduct our meeting outside and money was being handled. Bearing in mind one of the committee members did speak to a member of staff at the pub Wednesday Evening whilst playing darts just to remind them about the meeting on thursday.

The hotel and bar is brilliant! I came here to see my fiancée mum and dad as a surprise and I was very much surprised how nice, welcoming and brilliant this hotel is! The landlord Darren is amazing and he makes me and my fiancée feel so welcome to his hotel and bar!! I will certainly be coming back here soon! Thank you so much Darren!

We stayed here for two nights a week ago. The welcome was excellent; the room was massive and very comfortable with every possible facility well catered for and the breakfast was superb! The evening meals were also very good value for money and also had an excellent range of choices. You could also enjoy a good range of beers and wines in the comfort of the bar areas which also had fabulous log fires raging away - just what was needed in early February!! To top it all off, the staff were all extremely friendly, efficient, professional and keen to provide an excellent service. You really couldn't ask for anything better! We will certainly be staying here again when we next visit the area.
