We were a bit sceptical visiting here after reading a few reviews regarding poor service and in some cases the bad attitude of the management but we took a bit of a gamble and we were happily rewarded. We got served as soon as we went to the bar and our food order was served at our outside table in less than 10 minutes. Food was hot, well presented and very nice. A definite againer when we are next in the area. I will add that there was about 30 other guests there at our time of visiting so the staff didn't just have us to focus on.

Rude customer service. was told “im not sure whats happened the guy making your coffee just seemed to walk off” The wrong syrup was used in one of the coffees. Only positive was that the iced coffees were somewhat good. no where near coffee at a costa but cant really complain it is a pub.

Stopped here after a walk round Hessle country park. Location is pretty good, great view of the Humber bridge and estuary, but that's about it. Outside tables are nice next to the water. But be warned, at low tide it stinks of rotten seaweed. The bar is nice, the food is terrible. My wife ordered the carvery, the potatoes, parsnips and carrots were all rock hard and inedible. Like they've been prepared the day before and them microwaved to death. My daughter ordered the kids tagliatelle, no flavour, watery sauce and rubbery pasta. There was one staff member was great (female) the rest looked like they'd lost the will to live. We won't be going back.

We stopped here for some lunch on 17/08/25. The place looked nice and the outdoor seating are was pleasant with great views. I ordered a carvery, and everything looked and tasted like it had been sat there for hours and microwaved 10 times over. I have never sent a dinner back, but this was awful. I asked for them to replace it with scampi and chips. The scampi was nice, but the chips were shriveled but solid inside, and I couldn't eat it. Awful food and high prices. And sadly, every staff member look like they couldn't be bothered to smile. It was a rather depressing meal.

£5 to park - supposed to be refunded at the bar but told by staff not possible because I had paid by card! Eventually got refunded by the manager but not before a load of hassle. Then sat down to eat and wished we'd not bothered. Chicken and prawn in garlic creamy sauce consisted of one pice of (likely frozen) chicken. 3 prawns a pile of peas and some rice - was just like a cheap microwave meal. Not even tgat good actually because it was bland and tasteless Far far better options folks give it a swerve Stay clear.

Staff were lovely and the setting is beautiful but as a Coeliac the food choices were limited and not great. Chips can be oven cooked. Burger can be served without the bun. There's a chocolate brownie. I could have the all day brunch minus hash browns, sausages were gluten free. I opted for the nachos, way overpriced for what was provided and it was just all a bit bland and something I could make at home for less than a £1. I would return but not to eat. My family had some amazing food, ciabatta sandwiches, the kids meals were generous too. The kids are better than me for £1 less.

Came here for food with my family and the food was shocking, 1, lasagna came cold 2, the burger was greasy like It was deep fried and the bread bun was soggy 3,, steak was fine but pepper corn sauce was like dipping steak in water. Overall very disappointed in the overall experience. Will not be coming again in the near future.

I do not recommend booking a table for your celebration. We booked a table a month ago, I said it was a small wedding but we would like a table by the window with a view of the bridge. They will say that all the tables are by the window. When we arrived, they assigned us a table in the middle of the hall, with the excuse that they had a lot of people. But after all, we ordered the table a month ago?! Then they ran away dissatisfied and cleaned something at the window. OK. The menu is placed on the table. No one even said that you have to come to the bar yourself to order, we waited for 15 minutes. When we went ourselves, they said that they didn't have half of the menu items. Unfortunately, we gathered our things and left very disappointed. This place is good for those who want to drink and eat fast food, only then they should reduce the prices, because at the moment the prices do not correspond to reality, I am not even talking about the service, because it is not there at all.

Beautiful pub. Average food. Very poor customer service. It was like a ghost town for staff. No one to seat us and no staff to be seen to ask about the reservation. No one at the bar initially to take orders. Had to ask multiple times for the correct drinks and sides. No one was clearing the tables. We ordered drinks after our meal via the QR code. The ticket was just sat there until we went up and asked where the drinks were- the whole staff had just been having a chat behind the bar at this time. The restaurant was 95%+ empty when we went. A frustrating experience. A positive- a wonderful view of the Humber and Humber Bridge, and a beautifully renovated restaurant right next to the nature reserve. They will also refund parking for as long as you purchased. Food was fine with some vegan options but nothing special
