   I visited with a friend a few days ago and the experience was less than acceptable for a shop. Any item my friend asked about was met with " oh, that's going to the car boot " or , there's a man the owners know that will but these cameras/ recorders, with a reluctance to phone and get a made up price from " the owner" i then found an old wooden jewellery box, with lots of compartments. It had no lid, and damage. However, I did like it. I took it to the front and asked the shop worker, how much is this please? She looked at me and said, well, that's really expensive, the woman owner will sell that in Petworth, absolutely everything we asked about, we were told the items were being sold at auction, car boot or " specialist buyers" i told her to find out the price. Yet another phone call, £280. Disgusting service. Its not a shop. Don't be fooled. There are no prices. Things are not stored safely and prices are made up on " demand " we then saw 2 controls for a Wi . She took them straight off us and said , now I know they are not for sale, give it to me. We know the Wi is in here somewhere, but we haven't found it yet. Similarly, the wooden box i liked, was " in here for months, but its only just been dug out " Shambles. The name is apt and says it all. Its a storage facility, with a bouncer. Thats it and that's all. Health and safety need to go in there .

   I recently visited Shambles, which carries an impressive collection of vintage items. However, customers are not allowed to handle any of the pieces. The store is extremely cluttered, and none of the items are labeled with prices. To inquire about the cost of something, you actually have to call and ask about each item individually. The prices themselves are remarkably high, which perhaps explains why the shop is so overcrowded — there’s hardly any room to move. It’s quite a shame.

   My partner needed a removal service and she suggested we use Shambles, as they were rated highly. On the day of the move, they turned up with a large removal van with three people, who were very friendly, helpful and went above and beyond to help make the move as quick and easy as possible. They also took apart cabinets, beds and units and reassembled them where needed in the new home. They did a huge amount of work and didn't ask anything of us (although we helped, just to speed things up). I cannot recommend them enough. Thank you Shambles.

   The Shambles team performed a great job yesterday - a quite big house clearance in Rowlands Castle which wasn't pleasant as it was raining all day. Despite this they remained in good spirits throughout and got everything loaded up and safely away. They clearly are experienced in the correct way to dismantle beds, move pianos etc. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again or recommend them. It's good to know that Val may be able to find a home for some items through the shop rather than see everything thrown away. The whole process from the initial meeting with Chris, through emails - and on the day - was marked with flexibility on their part and a very friendly manner .... Chris Cowin (for some unfathomable IT reason this email appears under my partner's name - but I wrote it really : ) )

   Shambles moved our home from Chandlers Ford to Sherborne in Dorset. Throughout the whole process the entire team were great. The day before the move my wife was taken to hospital. A quick call to Val and she provided additional help at a moments notice, no dramas. On the day the move went extremely smoothly and the whole team were extremely helpful and paid great attention to detail. I would highly recommend Shambles for removal and also recommend the addition of the house clearance for those items you don't want to take with you.

   Just brilliant. Moving was such a worry for us as I knew I was going to have to co-ordinate moving out of two houses and moving into one, with a huge amount of stuff. I needn't have worried. Chris, Val & the team undertook the Herculean task of packing, loading and unloading two well-established households into one, with enthusiasm and professionalism, despite torrential rain, van issues, long days and random people turning up! Nothing was too much trouble, and I cannot thank them enough!

   A great experience dealing with Val, Chris and the boys who all helped with my late Dad's house clearance in Petersfield. From my very first enquiry, to the clearance itself, everything went like clockwork. I will never know how they managed to shift the entire contents in a single day but they just kept working until it was all done. Very reasonable price and an excellent all-round service which I would be happy to recommend to anyone. Thanks again!
