Despite the reason I had to stay there (a funeral), the experience was fantastic – what a location and service. Highly recommended if you're looking for a wonderful getaway.

I had a wonderful stay at Bryansford Cottage. Mary and Jay were fantastic attentive hosts! The cottage was spacious, warm, and inviting, and had all the facilities we needed. A very short walk from Tullymore Forest too. Looking forward to going back again. Thanks

I had a fantastic stay at Bryansford cottage for a retreat that I attended last weekend. Jay and Mary are just so incredibly lovely and welcoming and they did everything to make sure our stay was perfect- which it absolutely was! Bryansford Cottage is such a beautiful, homely space that even though I had never been before, somehow felt so familiar. I stayed in the recently converted stables which are modern, bright and beautiful and they have so much character throughout. The room and ensuite were both spotless and the bed was super comfortable. The grounds at Bryansford cottage are simply breathtaking, I could have sat outside all day and just taken in all the beauty, had we not had such a busy schedule. At the end of the weekend I just didn't want to leave and I promised myself that I will definitely be back as soon as possible! I wouldn't hesitate to reccomend this beautiful place to everyone and anyone. Thank you so much for making my stay perfect Mary and Jay! I will definitely see you guys again soon.

Jay and Mary were absolutely amazing hosts with equally amazing accommodation. We were well looked after, starting each day with with home made breakfast. Jay provided us with some wonderful insights on what we could do with our time, most of which we spent hiking around and eating out at some of the local restaurants. From the cottage it’s a 30 seconds walk to Tollymore Forest, with accessible trails to get out the coast (Newcastle) and the mountains (Slieve Donard etc), I couldn’t ask for much better! Easy drive to Newcastle and the surrounding areas so I could easily recommend this place to anyone wanting a country side escape. The idea of returning to Bryansford Cottage is a no brainier for my partner and I, so can’t wait to book us back in for another trip.

We visited last summer and I am just now looking this place up to recommend to friends who are traveling soon. This is, by far, the most welcome we have ever felt in a B&B. The rooms are cozy and luxe, remodeled completely by the hosts. Books abound. Nooks to drink coffee in, space for groups, and an absolutely lovely child and pup are roaming around. Hosts picked us up from the bus station, fed us in the mornings, and took us to the foot of Slieve Donard to hike and explore Tollymore forest. We were only there a short time, but I can confidently say we will return to Newcastle and to Bryansford cottage. I believe they are adding on an event space which I am sure will only enhance the grounds. I apologize for my lack of photos of the indoor space, but just know that they are beautiful and will be up to your expectations. Attached are photos of the grounds, the forest and our hike.
