The house is perfect and its setting is beautiful in the Mourne ANOB. The host, Gareth's, attention to details, full of thoughtful touches, and the selection of quality furniture took our stay to a whole new level, even comparing to some top branded hotels. It was an extremely enjoyable stay and would definite visit again.
From the moment I arrived, I knew this was going to be one of the finest stays I’ve experienced. Gareth was an absolute delight — wonderful company, great craic, and without doubt one of the warmest and most accommodating hosts I’ve met. His knowledge of the local area was second to none, and he was full of thoughtful recommendations, each one proving to be spot on. Breakfast was a true highlight, far exceeding anything I could have imagined. Every element was perfectly prepared and beautifully presented, with an attention to detail that is rarely seen. The fact that they even went to the trouble of sourcing a special black pudding speaks volumes about the pride and care they put into the experience of their guests. The rooms were exceptionally spacious, immaculately clean, and tastefully appointed — a true haven of comfort after a day’s exploration. The location itself is ideal, with the Mourne Mountains and surrounding countryside just a short drive away; within twenty minutes in any direction you are met with scenery and experiences that are truly remarkable. In short, if you are considering a stay anywhere near the Mourne Mountains, I cannot recommend this place highly enough. It combines charm, comfort, and genuine hospitality in a way that makes it stand out head and shoulders above the rest. A memorable stay that I would return to without hesitation.
First class accommodation, best B&B we have ever stayed in. The room was cosy, comfortable and spotlessly clean with very attractive soft furnishings and a lovely ensuite. The house is really beautiful and welcoming and we loved meeting the family. The breakfast was lovely and they had thought of everything to make us feel welcome.
Gareth was welcoming from the first instant and very personable. Bed was comfortable, view was good of a horse in a field and Mt Binnian in the back, breakfast was amongst the best we've had over 2 weeks in Ireland, the strength of the shower pressure is a miracle as far as I'm concerned and the whole place was modern. Guest lounge with fireplace and comfortable armchair was particularly cool. Amongst the best value for money place we've had. Would happily stay again.
It’s a five star experience from the moment Gareth welcomes you into he and Emma’s home at Mourne Country House. The location is superb affording beautiful views and the perfect place to explore the trails of the Mourne Mountains. The accomodation is spotless, beautifully decorated with comfy lounging areas and importantly comfortable beds. Emma cooks the best breakfasts using local produce and catered for my gluten free needs. Baby Faith is a delight! This is the best B&B experience we have had anywhere. Don’t hesitate to book!
The host is extremely thoughtful and careful. The rooms and the amenities are of a very high quality! Everything here is of a very high quality! I couldn't be happier of my choice! They deserve all the money! I would definitely come back again!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mourne Country House which was perfectly located for our hiking trip in the Mournes, only a short drive away. Both Gareth and Emma were extremely welcoming and made us feel right at home. From Emma's homebaked treats, flawless breakfast and the exceptional high standard of cleanliness, we were completely blown away. Looking forward to returning to this hidden gem in the near future.
Beautiful guesthouse, Gareth and Emma very welcoming. Beautiful interior with Fabulous scenic views. We climbed Slieve Donard only 15 minutes drive from guest house and celebrated with Emma's homemade muffins at the top. Spotless clean and breakfast kept us going all day

We had a fantastic holiday at Mourne Country House. Emma and Gareth are very professional hosts and everything was perfect, very clean, super Breakfast. Down to detail with no corners cut. Great for Mountainbiking in Rostrevor ! Secure bikestorage and washingfacilities !!! We will be back !!!
