Generally the staff are great apart from the guy in his 50s who is usually there on an evening and quite often can be heard swearing in front of customers. Doesnt greet people well and is abrupt. I've also never known anyone to have as many smoke breaks
I recall this shop from my childhood. It has been expanded over the years and was until recently part of the NISA group of stores. When part of NISA it stocked co-op products which I like very much. Now it has gone down market and seems to be a part of Budgens which is owned by Tesco. I will use the faux Budgens when I am in need but will not be my first choice of supermarket. I went in for milk and did get that and it was ok. Hope they continue to provide the service they used to and they remain an asset to the community.

I just collected my parcel ordered from ebay at this shop and wow, what an (awful) experience! The lady customer assistant was really nice and helpful but the male assistant who actually went to look for the parcel was the total opposite. He came back really frustrated using the "f" word several times suggesting that someone hadn't sorted out the parcels. After eventually he found it he kept on complaining (using swear words) to his colleague which sounded like something about the parcels being messed up. At one point it sounded like as if he was using the "f" word before my name! Meanwhile there were young people in the shop. I will never collect my parcel from this shop. He didn't intend to swear at me but I felt really uncomfortable actually almost guilty for choosing this shop. It is such a shame as there are some really nice products here and the other shop assistant was really nice.
Disgusting - I parked on the front (there are two parking spots) as I parked and took off my belt, my phone rang so I answered, it was my dad. I was about to tell him I would call him back when I heard a knock at the window ( My son had already got out of the car to go into Cooplands - I needed the pay point in Rispins). A man who said that Rispins was his shop asked me to move my car, when I asked why, he said because it was for customers only, I explained that I was going in to the shop to make a purchase he became aggressive and rude - my dad was still On loud speaker and asked what was going on. I explained that the owner of the shop was being rude and asking me to leave. He (the man) began shouting at me again to leave, he shouted so loudly he spat! I kept trying to tell him I needed something from his shop but he kept telling me to leave. He then took photographs of me and my car registration, I couldn’t do anything about this, I was still sitting in my car wondering whether or not I was still even allowed to go into the shop to purchase my Gas and Electric! I was told I wasn’t allowed - I used that shop often, it’s the local area convenience store; in the future, I will make sure I use Wold Road Premier - unlike Rispins, their customer service is impecable
I am a regular customer to rispins. The quote on staff is correct apart from one member male new ish to the staff. Turned a disabled man away to go home and get a mask.. Now what he should of suggested to the disabled person. Is, can I get you what you want. The male staff is beyond his station. He is not a doorman he is there to HELP ! I was very upset to know Raymond the disabled man. Had to go through this, its tough enough for him to walk never mind being told to make the effort all over again.. Appalling behaviour by staff.
Full marks to store staff on Priory Rd for excellent customer service. My elderly housebound mother-in-law rang the store to ask if they had paracetamol in store. They then sent a member of staff around to her house with 2 packets so she had them straight away.
