I always enjoy the ropewalk, it combines craft, quality and ambience. I did have a brief panic when I thought the restaurant had turned vegan and suspected our friends had invited there in revenge for us taking them to a Brazilian restauran, but then sanity restored itself when I checked with the team. And they were very gracious when I linked the lady not looking very well with the thought that they were vegan. Well, it is invariably the way.

Lovely to walk around and see the art on display. There was also some super gift ideas. The cafe was excellent, food was tasty and wholesome.

We go at least 5 times a year. Exhibitions and workshops are always interesting. The Christmas Fayre was excellent this year, so many stalls! I came home with lots of beautiful, original presents. The food was delicious in the cafΓ© and the pop up cafe at the other end. Great idea! A wide selection of cakes and salads.

What a lovely thing to see. I never knew this was here and so close to home. Art gallery, museum, sculpture garden, even a cinema. All in the longest grade 1, listed building in the UK. Lot's to do throughout the year, with events. To round it all off with lunch in the ropery cafe. We will be going again. it's well worth a visit.

A great walk today so decided to pop in for a coffee in the Ropery Coffee Shop. Met with a warm welcome by Lisa and served a great coffee. About a dozen others in the shop but a real nice atmosphere and Wendy was happy to spend some of her valuable time telling me about upcoming events that could interest me. Also a great programmes board with a great assortment of events. The centre is a not for profits centre so visit it when you can you will not be disappointed.

Came to the cafe to meet friends. It was my first time here - how have I managed to miss this place? Located at the far end of Tesco's car park, so I've been past many times but didn't realize. Amazing food, beautiful cakes freshly baked on site. Good range of hot drinks too. Will definitely return. Maybe I will visit the Art Gallery next time!

I had visited the cafΓ© before just for coffee, which is very nice, and they have a choice of oat or soy milk. People were friendly and it is a lovely place with a range of artworks exhibited inside (paintings, sculptures, ceramic...) Nice to sit outside, it is dog-friendly and people of all ages were enjoying the sun. This time we went for lunch. I picked their dish of the day for Β£12. It was a Chinese stir-fry which "can be made vegan". When it arrived it was simply shredded vegetables (carrot, cabbage, bean sprouts) bathing in very sweet soy sauce. No cards, no protein of any sort. I was hoping for mushroom, tofu, or noodles...! They did bring a small ramequin of Chinese crackers. I asked for some more and they did bring them promptly. My mum enjoyed her Greek filo pastry dish which was veggie (with cheese and leek) and came with some salad and coleslaw. That cost only Β£7.50. We were a bit confused about such a difference in price! As I was still hungry we got some cakes. They had two vegan options: lemon or ginger cake. My lemon cake was tasty but pretty dry - I couldn't finish it. My mum enjoyed her coffee cake. I will be back for the art and the coffee but won't have food there, unless they work on their options.

Beautiful art gallery and craft shop in a former rope making factory, with plenty of work available to buy from local artists. Sadly didn't get to sample the cafΓ© on my first visit. Will definitely return
