We visited as a group in November. The staff were lovely and helpful. Of those that ate meat within our group said their dish was pretty good. Myself being a vegetarian found the options very restricting as I don't like hot chilly on my plate as it dominates all other flavours in my opinion. My other option would have been a salad if I remember. I love to eat everything apart from meat. Our group had a wonderful evening, and many of us said we would definitely return.

To be honest, we only booked the Triton inn be ause we were dropping my son off at the South Cave Castle Hotel for a xmas do, but very pleased we did. I had booked late on a Friday so could only get the 8pm slot for 2, but when we got there about 45 minutes early, the staff quickly setup another table for 2 straight away. It was a really nice country pub with a delightful atmosphere. It was busy, as you would expect for a Friday night near xmas but we got served promptly by a very smiley waitress and we immediately felt like we were bring well looked after. 2 excellent if not original starters of a nicely creamy tomato and basil soup and prawn and crayfish cocktail. Both very nicely done. We both had the 8oz fillet steak and mine was cooked to perfection, sides were extra though. Again served promptly and sometimes by different people but all of them made us feel valued as customers with a happy smile. Deserts were also excellent. This is a dog friendly pub and there was a lovely well behaved black lab at the large table next to us. Just something to note if you're not as dog friendly as we are. Fantastic service by all the staff both behind the bar and the waitresses. We will definitely be returning. Highly recommended.

I am a frequent visitor of The Triton, the food and service is always fabulous. I booked a week in advance for my birthday, I asked for a table for 6 including a highchair. On arrival the main room was so inviting all the tables set nicely, we were lead into the back room with the play area.. None of the tables were set and I had to move two tables of four and carry a high chair over, the tables were all sticky and the high chairs dirty. I cleaned them with my grandchildren’s wipes. We ordered sandwiches which took over half an hour to be brought. I then had to get napkins and cutlery from the bar area. The food was delicious as usual but no check back, after a while I then had to clear our plates onto another table. I was very disappointed

Absolutely superb! We arrived on a Sunday without a booking. We were taken to a table in no time at all. The service and food were both excellent. We'll definitely be returning.

Lovely pub. Had the lamb but it was undercooked for me. But the staff was very helpful and I got the lamb cooked to my liking. Great outdoors play area for children. Non alcoholic drinks if driving. Recommend taking a look.

Really excellent on all fronts and couldn't have had a better evening with my family. We were a party of 8, with 4 dogs and about a million dietary requirements and special requests but the staff couldn't have been any more accommodating. The lady who appeared to be manager on shift took our order and looked after us for the evening - well placed humour, the right level of care and attention and really did have everything running so so well. The atmosphere was lovely, as is the setting of the Triton Inn too. The food was absolutely amazing, superbly presented with the flavour to boot. A masterful approach to food which left everybody impressed. The vegans in our party were suitably impressed to have had multiple quality options for each course, and my partners allergy's were really well catered for with all staff being clearly comfortable and confident in how to deal with the requirements and what was and wasn't safe on the menu (there was even a complete book breaking down allergens and potential contaminations for my partner to check through which made him feel so much more relaxed). Thanks for a lovely night!

Won't be rushing back to spend another Β£300. Food was good, but not worth the prices. 2 x scallops, 1 over cooked, 1 under cooked..this is after mine was forgotten so assume that's why under cooked. My son ordered a medium sirloin..it was rarer than my medium rare Tomahawk. Steak knives had to be asked for also. Service was ok, nothing worth shouting about. Overall..ok/ good. Nothing amazing, which I was hopeful after looking at online menus

Enjoyed every bit, pleasant staff and pleased we sat in the conservatory area away from the main eating which some diner’s had brought their pet dogs!!

An absolute gem of a location hidden away on the lower slopes of the Wolds at Brantingham, surrounded by trees and nature. First time I have visited in almost 50 years and a superb location for a drink and meal that has been well developed by the present Landlord and Lady. Large car park and served by public transport. Play area for the kids and not only a huge field behind for a kick-about but a hidden garden for more intimate gatherings. Accessible conveniences for guests. Truly remarkable with helpful staff.
