   Disappointing… Solent Cycles, I’ve known for a long time and spent a few quid in and has been very helpful in the past but visiting a couple of times recently with a bottom bracket sizing query, I ended leaving the store no better off. Thinking the store would have more knowledge in these matters, they would be happy to help. On both occasions I took my frameset in showing my problem, but response was quite negative, being told by the shop representative that without doing some investigation they wouldn’t be able to do anything.to help. I thought a better response would have been leave the frame with us and we’ll see what we can do…. You’ve lost a customer.

   Im unsure where these bad reviews are coming from. I am brand new to cycling and recently purchased a 2nd hand road bike. Along with that purchase I had no idea what else I needed other than a helmet. After being recommended solent cycles by a friend I popped down after work and the two assistants (unsure of names) were fantastic, gave me some advice checked my bike over and told me what I needed. I left with a helmet, shoes/clips and a bib-vest + jersey. It think this shop is great and supporting it is a must before all shops end up online and then I would've been left to by the wrong things.

   First class customer service; I bought a bike from here for my daughter about 3 years ago, this year the chain keeps slipping off despite re-tightening the rear wheel a number of times. I booked it in for assessment and repair, but when we popped in to drop it off and I explained the issue in a bit more detail one of the guys overheard and said “let’s just have a look at it now” and talked to me at length to understand the problem in detail; said staff member suggested it likely just needs better nuts on the back wheel and promptly swapped them over there and then and sent us with no bill, wouldn’t even charge us for the new nuts or their time! Said to of course come back if the issue persists. Amazing service and great peace of mind for me knowing that any issues we have can be rapidly solved by this local shop who genuinely care.

   Isn't the same level of quality care as I remember from before they moved their shop up west street A bigger shop but very small on skilled technicians, seems to be only one older guy doing the fixing, snowed under with too much work and clearly shows in his quality of work and customer service temperament also

   Review for solent cycles in Fareham. Popped in Saturday with a thru axle that wouldn't budge (went to another shop before, they were unable to help). Were extremely helpful and stopped what they were doing to assist. Several processes of elimination and 15 mins later they had the axle out with no damage. Staff seemed knowledgeable and happy to help, explained everything as they went. Would highly recommend

   On the advice of the supplier (an online store), I booked my Cube Reaction in for a replacement bottom bracket, and was pleased when Solent Cycles (Fareham) had the correct one in stock. Ultimately, upon stripping down and cleaning the bottom bracket and chain set, they didn’t feel a replacement was necessary. This completely fixed the annoyance I’d had with the bike since purchased new in August, and saved me about £50 in the process. I thoroughly recommend Solent Cycles, for being friendly, courteous, professional, with first class customer service. Excellent!
