I booked this hotel for firstly the location it is situated near good travel links to hull city center and minutes from the main road links on the A63 , it is also surrounded by a huge variety of shops supermarkets and eateries and many takeaways including on site they have a very popular and successful italian restaurant which sadly I did not have the opportunity to try, because I only stayed one night. I looked on line and chose this hotel as it was close to family and friends and has easy access to a great bus service, also as like every one else i looked at the pictures the hotel had put on different booking sites and it looked very inviting and comfortable and the price was comparable to several other hotels in the area. On arrival check in was welcoming and informative but when I went to my room I was shocked it was nothing like the picture I had seen on line it had a mish mash of furniture in the room which was quite small there was a pedestal next to the bed posing as some sort of bedside table it was a lot taller than the bed the other obsolete piece of furniture was marked on the top surface and on the inside had a tiny shelf which was of no use to put anything on the other half of this cabinet was just one empty square box it had many shelf holes in so presume at one point it had shelfs in the wardrobe had two limp plastic hangers and on having to put several items on my clothes slid off as the hangers were not rigid enough. The curtains in both the bathroom and bedroom were stained one with paint the bedroom window was missing the handle the bed was an old type sprung matress variety so when you sat on it you could just hear the squeaking of the springs the worse thing was the matress was stained both the main area and on one side which I could clearly see because they had not put a matress protector know proper fitted sheet to cover it over the quilt was not big enough to cover an adult ,the floor was sticky and had square raised patches near the bathroom it looked as though it had been repaired. The bed was not comfortable so I did not sleep well with the small single quilt I was told the next day that I should of got out of bed gone to reception to get a bigger one.I did go to reception and get the receptionist to come to the room to verify my issues she was apologetic and said they could not move me to another room as they were full and to see reception the next day to sort out another room. The next day I had breakfast although the room itself was very small with only enough room for a few tables the continental breakfast was very good and the staff member on duty was warm and welcoming. I went to reception the next morning and instead of trying to solve my situation I was not offered another room but was told that this was a budget hotel and I could not expect every room to be perfect as the hotel was being refurbished this attitude was quite shocking and was given by the housekeeper the receptionist did offer an apology and was helpful in my departure this hotel needs to train staff more in customer I did take all photos to back my issues and the night receptionist verified my issues was given complimentary breakfast and got a refund from Expedia whom I'd booked with before I had even checked out its such a shame as this hotel could be so much better.

I put the small trash bin outside my room door so that the housekeeping could take the garbage away, which is a normal practice. However, the housekeeper in this hotel told me that I was not allowed to do so. I then asked the housekeeper to come into the room and take the trash out of the bin, but during this process, some garbage fell onto the floor. The housekeeper refused to clean it up and told me to clean it myself. When I checked in, I was carrying a lot of luggage, and the front desk staff kept talking about many irrelevant things. I told them that I was very tired and would talk later, but the receptionist accused me of being rude.

Couldn't fault the service,we checked in earlier than expected, hotel was clean to a high standard, complementary water on arrival, also complementary bacon sandwich the next day. The room was basic but fine for what we needed, however the bed/mattress was awful, so uncomfortable and really noisy when you moved, had a really bad night's sleep and for that reason would not return.

Stayed 1 night here on the 18th July. Hotel easy to find . Price of parking was very reasonably for 24hrs. On arrival staff were very helpful and friendly. They went above and beyond. Rooms were very clean and tidy . Breakfast was continental .Good variety of food . The Italian restaurant was so delicious and had an offer on so very reasonable. We will stay here again

Lovely hotel, with great staff, providing famous Hull hospitality. The room was a decent size, but a little tired in places. That said, the facilities were good, with anything you'd find elsewhere, but also a fridge, coffee machine, and kettle. Bathroom included a bath with very good power shower. Service was fantastic, with a non-affiliated Italian restaurant on site. Breakfast was a continental buffet, with lots of good options. Again, service great. Nothing was ever too much bother, and the staff courteous, professional, yet warm and friendly. Car Park next to hotel: Pay separately or at the hotel; a number of ways to pay available. (Including RinGo) We had a great stay, and will return again.

Nice receptionist and an okay restaurant has won the second star in my review. This β€œhotel” doesn’t deserve the 3 stars it is claiming. Good luck to you if you are staying in from September to May, you will be freezing or sweating, as the subpar AC will blast you with hot air for a period then turn off. It is extremely loud so you won’t get too much sleep on your wobbly and creaky bed. There are 1 to 2mm gaps in windows and they also are also stuck in slightly open position for that constant breeze of cold air in your room. This is either their understanding of ventilation, OR it is because no one wants to spend the money to fix the windows. There is no heating in the bathroom so you can look forward to a nice temperature of the outside environment+4 degrees for your morning shower. If you do fall asleep, someone will smash their old door and wake you up as there is no sound isolation whatsoever. Dust was probably last cleaned in the 16th century after window and carpet installation. I have specified all of the above to the staff, but this is obviously a long term neglect of the building, so I had absolutely no expectation that my comments will be seriously considered. Pay a few more quid so you don’t have to stay in a glorified inn.

I had to stay overnight in Hull forΒ work purposesΒ and I booked The Cornmill Hotel based on it's location, price and car parking. I did not have any expectations as for me it was just a place to sleep and very reasonably priced. I booked a single room which was a little small but then it is just for one person... I am just reporting, not complaining! Everything was clean, tidy and in good repair. The shower was excellent. My room had tea and coffee facilities, a large TV, storage and a spacious shower room. I did require an iron during my stay but that was no problem and an almost brand new iron and board was obtained from reception. There is a large car park that was very well lit which I appreciated. You do have to pay for your parking but it wasn't expensive and I was confident my car was safe. In terms of value for money I would say the Cornmill Hotel is very good and I was happy with the accommodation. I would book again in the future if I return to Hull. Special mention to Tina on reception who was very friendly and made me feel welcome.

Clean room, fine for a few nights stay. No breakfast tho. They need soft closers on the doors because I was constantly woken up by people's doors and rooms entrance door slamming.
