Our dog became very ill on Christmas morning. We contacted vets now and they asked us to bring her in. They carried out a full range of tests and provided us with a preliminary diagnosis. During the four days of her OOH stay with them she was well looked after. From the first point of contact until she was discharged we were met with staff that are friendly, caring, respectful, and professional. If Iβm ever in a position to require an OOH vet again I would certainly contact them again.

Vets Now made a stressful experience a whole lot easier. First phone call was very useful with clear instructions. First vet we saw was very informative and gave our cat a thorough examination. He was kind and gave us clear information about how cat would be cared for. She stayed in and he called twice with an update. Unfortunately their ultrasound wasn't working so we couldn't get a full diagnosis. When we picked her up the next morning 2nd vet explained clearly about her care and how to proceed. We took her home and Vets Now had also informed our vets who called in the day to check up. Receptionist was kind and friendly and helpful as she explained how to deal with insurance

I brought my Doberman here last year with bloat β a life-threatening, time-sensitive emergency. Instead of rushing to help, I was told nothing would be done until I paid Β£2,000 up front. Once I managed to get the money, the amount was raised again to Β£3,000. While every minute counted, my dog lay on the floor in pain as I begged for help. The staff were cold, detached, and dismissive β I was even told I could βgo somewhere else if I didnβt like it.β The vet spoke down to me, and the receptionist showed no compassion. It felt like a βcomputer says noβ situation, with no urgency or care for what was happening in front of them. I sat in tears while my boy was slipping away. This was one of the hardest experiences of my life. My dog died on the table before the operation was even completed, yet they still demanded full payment. When I asked to see him the next day, I was told he had already been placed in the freezer. My family had to go back to collect his collar because I couldnβt face returning there. This nightmare didnβt just cost me my dog. It has left me with a CCJ, Β£2,400 in debt, damaged credit, and the loss of the home I had been saving for. In total they charged Β£4,400 for a dog who was left waiting over an hour without proper care. I understand bloat can be fatal, but time and compassion make all the difference β and both were absent here. I have since tried to resolve this with the company, but all Iβve received is the usual corporate runaround: passed from person to person and told I could βmake a complaintβ if I wished. Again, detached and uncaring. Corporate vets like this care only about money, not the animals or the families who love them. Please β avoid Vets Now and Downland at all costs. Trust independent vets who still put patients first.

Nobody wants to have to use the emergency vet, but both the receptionist and the vet were so kind and helpful and made everything so much less stressful. The vet spent a lot of time and consideration diagnosing our little dog, and provided thorough explanation and options. The receptionist was so warm and caring and our dog loved having a little cuddle with her! Vets Now provide such an essential service, we are so grateful! Thank you :)

We were very relieved to find Vets Now when staying with family in Portsmouth over Christmas as our dog consumed half a box of chocolates on Boxing Day evening. Vets Now answered our phone call very promptly and within 20 minutes we were at the surgery where Vet Lucas assessed our dog, provided assurance that she hadnβt consumed a dangerous amount, and explained possible side effects and how to deal with them. The receptionists were very friendly and efficient too. We hadnβt come across a dedicated out-of-hours emergency vet before. It is a great idea, and well delivered by Vets Now Portsmouth.

My dog passed away on a Saturday night and Vets Now were my emergency out of hours vet. When I phoned them Sunday morning the receptionist offered her condolences and gave me clear instructions on what to do. I took my dog to the surgery and they removed her from the boot of my car for me as I couldn't do it myself. They gave me some time alone in a separate room to consider cremation options but didn't pressure me. They were very kind and sincere. I was treated with the same care when I picked up her ashes. The surgery itself is large, clean and spacious and has a separate area for owners with cats to wait. It's in an easily accessible location although turning right into the car park is a tight turn.

Vets now is one of those places you don't want to have to go to ... But unfortunately life isn't always like that. I've been here 5 times within the last 6 months with my little cat Alberto and the care he's received there has been second to none. He's always well looked after, updates are regular and always he seems to "enjoy" his time there. All the staff are friendly and despite being your "emergency vet" provide a personal touch to the service that makes it feel like visiting your actual vet. Only minor gripe is as they share the premises with a daytime vet you have to collect your pet early and can leave a wait for your regular vet on handover.... Nothing vets now can really do about it, but worth being prepared for.

Our little dog patch and her only surviving puppy was left at vets now for a night stay after having a c section at our local vets who told us her temperature had dropped and her and pup might not make it . We paid in advance for this service and left her there at 6.30pm at 7pm we were called to say she was fine and they were busy so could we collect her if possible , we explained we could not, we then received another call and was told that patch could stay if we could not get her and the another call at 9pm by a demanding lady saying they are busy and patch would be safer at home and you need to get your dog a? So we collected our weak looking patch and puppy , we ask for discharge notes to state mum and pup were well enough to leave but were refused as they were to busy we also explained that due to a family death it wasn't practical to take patch that evening as we thought it was best for patch and puppy to stay for the night that had been agreed and paid . Let's hope that patch and pup make it through the night at home now This practice hasn't come across as animal loving at all more rude and demanding
