A very enjoyable hike with an incredible view of silent valley The hike is relatively easy and the path is well laid out. Beyond the view of silent valley you can see the coastline and towns like kilkeel
There was first hike with 5 years old girl, was great day,enjoy from start to e nd:)very easy,highly recommend families with children!
Brilliant hike from OTT car park. Accessible with laid out paths. Ground is mild underfoot with angular rocks. From ott walk toward the Mourne wall, then Doan is found behind. Great views over silent valley and lough shannagh. A 30ft rougher hike to the summit which might not suit all hikers. Doan is great for all ages. We spent 6 hours enjoying the trails and views, good access to the other nearby peaks following the Mourne wall.

If you're all about the views you'll love this. Easy path from Ott car park to the Mourne wall over it and another easy trail to the base of Doan, getting to the top could be a like bit of difficult but the views are worth it
The best view's in the Mournes for the least amount of effort, Doan has to be my favourite and so easy to get to anyone of any fitness level can do it

Brilliant for a hike. Not too challenging but not easy. And surrounding views are stunning. Definitely worth going to.
Bit cloudy the day we went up, but clouds parted for an amazing view over Silent Valley. Came up the Bann Road which was a slow and steady trek to the Lough before a steep but fun accent up Doan. Very windy at the summit, but a couple of good shelter points for lunch.
