Tollymore Forest Park in Newcastle, Northern Ireland is a truly beautiful place for hiking and trekking. The trails take you through a clean, peaceful forest with rivers, stepping stones, and ancient stone bridges that feel timeless. Many scenes from Game of Thrones were filmed here, which makes the walk even more special. The 8 km trail is the best option, offering long walks beside the river. The sound of flowing water and the clear stream calm your mind and make you feel close to nature. Itβs one of those places where you forget everything and just enjoy the moment. The park is well maintained and has parking, toilets, and a small coffee shop, making it perfect for a relaxed day out. A must-visit if you love nature, walking, and quiet beauty.

This was one of my favorite forest experiences we had. The trails are so beautiful. The walkways are accessible but feel secluded. There are waterfalls, bridges, and little alcoves. There were lakes and picnic areas. We did a 4 mile hike and had so much fun. It is stunning.

Beautiful forest for a nice day out in the nature. We took the river route, aprox 5.7km, it was very chilled and flat. Everything is super well kept. Will definitely be coming back again to stay at the campsite and enjoy the other routes. Tip: come during autumn, preferably last week of October, the colours are stunning!

Prepare yourself with the right walking shoes, a picnic lunch, jackets in case you get cold. Tons of places for a picnic lunch. Great little magic moments throughout. Lots of views and sounds of streams and rivers. Some small plaques explaining the history pieces. Fantastic assortment of large tree varieties, wish they had the botanical scientific names in front of many of the species as they are very unique.

Extraordinary location. 10/10 campervan facilities. Hot showers, heated bathrooms. Waste disposal. Staff are exemplary in keeping toys place in tip top condition. Fantastic forest walk and beautifully kept gardens. Saw the Aurora lights last night. A wonderful time, definitely a spot to come back to when in the North again.

One of Northern Ireland's most beautiful forest parks, Tollymore have several different paths with many different things to view, It's a rather wonderful place and looks really attractive throughout the year. There's a great caravan/camping site in it, with toilets and showers. The views of the mountains is spectacular. Perfect place to hike or just have a gentle stroll in beautiful surroundings with a variety of marked trails from short, medium or long. Β£5 entrance to those in cars, but as a Forest Service park entrance is included in your annual membership, which is currently Β£40. Thoroughly enjoyable for a day trip or a short stay. It's close to Newcastle so one could spend half the day here and finish off with a trip to Newcastle beach during the longer summer days. Fantastic option for families. Really can't recommend Tollymore highly enough.

Great place for a hike or a stroll in beautiful surroundings with a variety of marked trails. I can fully recommend the river trail which is between 4.5km and 6km depending on whether to take the optional extension. If you are lucky you may spot some wildlife ( came face to face with a stunning deer on a previous visit ). The Shimna river is also known for it's Salmon at the the right time of year. Β£5 entrance to those in cars. Also, has camping grounds for those so inclined. Thoroughly enjoyable for a quick day trip.

such a beautiful park, there are many different paths with many different things to see and a large amount of places to take a seat and watch the nature, the place looks lovely when all the trees have leaves and the birds are chirping. There's also a great caravan site in it that is very reasonable and has great services like toilets and showers. The view of the mountains is a lovely site as night falls or sunrise.

Really nice walk around here. Some lovely little paths, wooded areas too. We went on the recent bank holiday and it still felt super secluded and not busy. Busy with bikes off the main trail, but would recommend venturing off.

A beautiful forest park which is situated around 2 miles away from Newcastle city. There are some historical bridged and constructions inside the park. Inside the park there are many rivers and small waterfalls. Also there are 3 Game of Thrones locations in the park. Number of trails are available which you can select according to your interest, which include some trails with high elevated areas and some others with mostly flat. I think the park is more attractive and beautiful in Autumn.
