Went in to watch the world cup final, was presented with a table which was covered in great goodies, for example we got some novelty glasses, an England wig. Service was excellent, considering how full the place was, we didn't wait long for a drink at all, 100% suggest you visit this pub. Also, I donated a replica world cup trophy to the pub, the owner was so appreciative that he bought as a bacon butty each and a drink each! Fantastic gesture!

The opening of any Burger joint in Hull always faces an uphill battle but Kicks Bar & Grill has made a good start The standard of independent Burger restaurants & takeaways in Hull are some of the best, if not the best, in the country. Gadgie Burger, Anti Sauté Sauté Club at the White Hart, Beast Burger, Thieving Harry’s, Burgerology and the winner of the best burger in the UK, the brilliant Dope Burger set a very high standard in Hull and you have to do something special to compete. Kicks Bar & Grill gives it a good go but there is room for improvement. Ordering the Kicks Calling Burger for £13.95 for my wife and I and a kids Kicks Burger for my son, we were greeted with a hearty and plentiful basket of food, especially the excellent kids meal. A very large amount of skin-on fries with the burgers placed on top. The Calling burgers came with two pieces of gorgeous fried chicken pieces on top (instead of the advertised Cheeseburger Spring rolls, which they had run out of). Inside you had usual lettuce, onions and gherkin, along with American Cheese, streaky bacon and house burger sauce, all under a fantastic bun. What let it down however were the two burgers. They were over cooked, with almost all of the juices gone, taking away a lot of the flavour you’d expect from two prime beef patties. Whether this was just a bad day for the chef or the quality of the burgers themselves, it took something away from what was a very well presented burger and fries. The service was good and maybe I should have mentioned this to the waitress but they were busy getting ready for the weekly Quiz Night. Kicks Bar & Grill has made a good start and is a welcome addition to the “New Town” area of Hull City centre. With a little work on the tenderness and juiciness of the burger, this will be another place for burger lovers to seek out.

1st time trying this place, and and wasn't disappointed. We came to the bottomless crisp party. Brilliant concept, and a definite must for crisp lovers. So many different types of crisps. The atmosphere was really good, the Dj played some really good music throughout the night. The normal food menu looked good as well, the fajitas Wednesday offer looks worth a try. Drinks not badly priced either. Staff were all really friendly. Would recommend a visit. We will certainly be back. Thanks again for a great night.

Misleading about when we could get drinks. Attended for the World Cup England game. Bought a booth for £30pp, advertised as 5-9 with a meal and unlimited beers. The beers didn’t start until 15 minutes before the game. Then they stopped well before the 75th Minute. Very misleading over the drink the times. Overall a fun experience because of the fans there. Was not happy with taking the mick on the drinks for the booth we booked. Burger was decent.

Came last night for the football, excellent service from the waitress, food was amazing and served in really good time, had great seats for the football also, I'd say one of the best places for food/drink in hull, would highly recommend!

Good things: ambience, decor, games, portion sizes Bad things: prices, serving time, taste was mediocre of all foods, all you can eat fajitas deal takes so long to bring out more fajitas it's not worth the wait or the price Wouldnt go again Edit : please note I ordered the next round of fajitas as soon as I got my first round, so even with the time it took me to eat all of my first round of fajitas, it still took ages afterwards for the next round to be served
