(Note: this review is from John , Jan’s husband, as Jan was bed bound at the time). Our Bearded Collie, Maisie, was taken (terminally as it as found) ill at teatime on a Friday. The receptionist managed to fit her in at 5.30 that evening. Sadly, she had to be pts and the procedure was carried out in a faultless kindly manner. When it was all over I was left on my own with Maisie, and a box of tissues, for as long as I needed. After settling the bill the receptionist asked me to be careful driving home. I couldn’t ask for more. Thank you.

My cat has been visiting Wicstun for two years, and it is the best vets we've ever been to. Great for check-ups, even greater in emergencies. Staff are always wonderful and kind, vets understanding and reasonable. The new cat clinic is particularly outstanding! My cat had never been to the vets in the first 9 years of his life before I adopted him, so naturally he gets anxious! However he calmed down in the waiting room, so much so when he went for his consult, he was lying on the table quite happy to be touched by a stranger!

DO NOT USE THIS VETS. MONEY MAKING SCAM. WAY MORE EXPENSIVE THAN OTHER VETS. THEY USE YOUR LOVE TO EXPLOIT AND ADD UNNECESSARY ITEMS ONTO A BILL. I saw a vet at Christmas for our pet Hamster. The vet 'kindly' waived the fee. Since then we had monthly letters sent to us asking for the money. I emailed and called in repeatedly and they said it would be sorted, or they didn't know which vet it was. A year later I have received a foul letter and matching email, threatening debt collectors and blacklisting from all the other vets affiliated with them. The unknown vet has turned out to be Andrew and he says he didn't mean what was said, it was a 'miscommunication'. The fee has not been waived and I now have to pay it. Amazing how all that time, nobody knew which vet and suddenly we do. Amazing how you kindly waive a fee then don't. No Christmas spirit after all, and more Scrooge. Quite disgusted as they have dragged out the trauma and left me feeling like a common criminal. ALL my vet bills have been paid. We were led to believe that the vet was offering a kindness. Clearly this group owned by the Mars Corporation are without money. Do yourselves a favour, find a good old fashioned vet with their own practice and pay half the price. I will NEVER use them again. This has all been so upsetting, and distressing.

Amazing vets, we transferred here recently as our other vets were a little off the boil and didn't seem to be passionate about our dog Reggie. We have dealt with a few staff and the lady who stands out and has answered calls and e-mails at all times of day and night including weekends is Serena who has been amazing both from her amazing knowledge but also her genuine love and affection for animals. I cannot recommend Wicstun enough as they have been amazing every step of the way and we have been asking a million questions and not once did they ignore us or brush us off. Together we got to the bottom of our dogs very rare Cystine stone condition and after a DNA test we have got him on the road to recovery and he can now life a long and normal life. Thank you Serena!!

I used to think highly of this practice. £240 for an out of hours consult, absolutely disgusting!! Since they've built the new, supposed 24 hour Hospital, all they care about is money. Sod the years that all the farmers have been with them, just a letter to say they're no longer doing large animal practice, so much for looking after loyal customers and pets that can't help being poorly and needing urgent attention.

After 4 days of treatment we recently had to make the extremely difficult decision to put our two and a half year old cat Merlin to sleep just before Christmas. We were and are still devastated but everyone we have dealt with at Wicstun have been so kind and helpful. Special mention to Annie who made the worst thing in the world so much more bareable and we were especially touched to have received a card in the post from her and the team today. Thanks so much again.
