My local gym and it's fantastic. Staff are really helpful and welcoming, facilities are always clean and it has a good range of workout facilities, gym, classes and swimming. They also communicate when there are issues so you can avoid disappointment before turning up and it's also very well priced for membership.

Matt's Gladiator class In just three months, this class has done wonders for me. My cardio has improved drastically, and I feel stronger every week. Matt delivers the perfect mix of intensity, clear instruction, and motivation. The workouts are tough in the best way lots of high-energy, well-designed, and focused on proper form. The atmosphere is supportive and empowering. If you want real results and a great coach, Matt’s Gladiator class is a must!

I joined Nuffield Health Gym in September and now regularly use the gym, steam room, sauna and pool here. As a middle aged overweight woman the thought of working out in front of more devoted gym users was daunting but I shouldn’t have worried. The atmosphere here is brilliant, training spaces are big, open and well equipped. There’s always a trained staff member on hand if you need them. My husband and 13 year old son also joined and we love working out together as a family. Special shout out to trainer Matt who did my son’s induction and my personal best assessment. He’s such a great motivator and really supportive. I would recommend him and this gym to everyone.

At Varsity Nine Football & Education Programme, we have used Nuffield Health for a number of years now, and I can only say extremely positive things about the staff and the facility as a whole. We use the gym for general strength and conditioning plans, recovery sessions, and to support the delivery and assessment of our student-athletes working towards their personal training qualification. The facility is always brilliant, and I can’t speak highly enough of the staff, who are always friendly, helpful, and able to accommodate any last-minute changes.

I attended a 12 week joint pain clinic and learnt so much from our PT (Leila), she brought energy, empathy and expertise to every session. She explained all of the gym equipment thoroughly which has given me the confidence to keep up training independently. The gym overall is clean and well equipped, although due to the age some of the machines are often awaiting repair, there is enough to choice to keep you active. I also appreciate that the gym caters for families, especially encouraging teens to workout. We have found it to be a welcoming atmosphere, from the moment you arrive the reception team greet you with smiles and the PTs are always on hand to answer questions and give encouragement.

Clearly no pride of ownership or management by anyone, needs someone to grip up the whole experience or change the management. Pool area is dirty , stinky , rusty and the steam room is barely tepid, jacuzzi not switched on !! And always something broken ' waiting to be fixed ' Absolutely stinks of smelly wet dog with horrible gangster music being played. Changing rooms are run down, showers are rusty with no water pressure. Such a shame, compared to hemel hempstead- this place is a joke

I had a trail this week. Most things not working mens showers broken and water pressure is low. Jacuzzi closed and steam room cold. Swimming pool full of kids before 7pm. Needs updating and gym is too try else where. Definitely do a trail see for yourself.

Needs proper air conditioning and secure cycle parking. Otherwise a great gym with lovely helpful staff, Les Mills classes, swimming pool and a unique view of the Xscape ski slope.

Lots of equipment constantly out of order as other reviews have advised with lots of equipment looking old and tired now too Gym is always hot, not sure why you'd have the heating on the gym, even budget gyms have air con on cool so you can comfortably do a work out. The changing rooms and showers are dated and needing a refurb, the bit between the changing rooms and pool absolutely stink every day. Jacuzzi often out of action and steam room is tepid. Not sure how they can justify a premium price tag for sub-standard offer. Really disappointing to be tied into a long membership with no reinvestment in facilities despite being a charity. Also find that suggestions for new equipment, which they encourage, are met with excuses and not solutions.
