“My daughter attended a party held here. The staff were extremely helpful, as we had arrived early and didn't recognise anyone who was swimming at the time. The grounds were beautiful and I would recommend this place with its outdoor swimming pool, especially to families. It's a brilliant vibe with plenty to do.”

“We recently stayed at the Mercure, Milton Keynes, while visiting a friend. The hotel is immaculately clean, modern and in a great location. The staff were all super friendly and attentive. Our room was on the ground floor quite close to reception. And although the room was spacious and clean, we found the bed to be a tad uncomfortable, perhaps because it's a linked bed. Nothing major but worth noting. During the night there was a dripping noise, presumably from the air-conditioning unit, which again was bearable but could be an issue to some. We stayed in the autumn but I'm sure in the summer, the AC would be very welcome. The rooms were cleaned daily, although one day our room seemed to have been half done. Towels were changed and bathroom cleaned but the bed not made up or coffee sachets left. This was rectified by reception, so once again not a problem. The rooms have multiply sockets, with USB points which is a luxury in itself. We didn't eat in the restaurant but the bar food was delicious and more than ample. We have an EV and although the chargers weren't working while we were there, there were plenty of high speed chargers in MK. My husband and I would definitely stay here again, the issues I've mentioned are very minor so please don't let these out you off staying at this hotel.”

“We booked a last minute one night stay and although apprehensive about staying based on the reviews we went for it and we were pleasantly surprised. We had a Jungle Safari Lodge (python number 10). It looked great and we were happy with it, after all we are only staying one night. Double bed could do with a new mattress and bunk beds were solid but again one night only. There were a few kitchen utensils but didn't really look as we weren't eating in the lodge but if you were you'd probably want to keep cooking down to a quick, simple meal and probably take your own stuff so you know you've definitely got it. We booked a table at restaurant but couldn't get in till late (our fault for delaying the booking) cancelled it and found a harvester 1 mile away which was good. Entertainment onsite from 4.30pm seemed good (we didn't do much of it as eating etc). We had breakfast included in our stay and the menu was simple, we opted for a bacon butty. Bacon was excellent quality and the roll was pre cut with no butter, again didn't matter to us, we had a full belly and were grateful for the deal we got. I would visit Adventures village again next year if we got a similar deal. We enjoyed our stay and thought it was great fun.”

“My local gym and it's fantastic. Staff are really helpful and welcoming, facilities are always clean and it has a good range of workout facilities, gym, classes and swimming. They also communicate when there are issues so you can avoid disappointment before turning up and it's also very well priced for membership.”

“I Had an AMAZING time with the lifeguards Joe,Josie,Cara! They were so funny and really friendly! They were really supportive and they were singing with us. One thing for them to remember is are “MORE PASSION, MORE PASSIOn” I recommend that you go with them! From Martin, Maisie and Ellie”

“I was visiting from the U.S. and missing my swim time. I was very grateful for the day pass to enjoy the pool. I desperately needed to fill the hours between the site sighting excursions planned by my host family. The staff was kind and accommodating and locker/shower facilities were satisfactory. The hot tub wasn’t working one day and not hot the other, but the steam room was just what I needed to unwind. Although I was far from home, I felt perfectly comfortable.”

“We’ve absolutely loved our experience with Little Turtle Swim Company so far. Claire is so calm, in tune and incredibly patient with both parents and babies who are new to the pool. The groups are small and intimate, so it genuinely feels like a 1:2:1 swimming class, which has made a huge difference to our confidence in the water. I also really appreciate how supported we’ve felt before even getting in the pool. Little swimmers can start from as early as 6 weeks, and Zara is always at hand to chat through what you need for the sessions. All the information is clearly laid out in the confirmation emails once you’ve booked, but she’s still happy to talk through any worries and even send links to swimwear tailored to your baby’s specific needs. The classes run in 6-week blocks and have become a lovely weekly routine for us. The focus is very much on helping newborns and parents feel relaxed and comfortable in the water, while gently encouraging floatation, rotation, propulsion and immersion through sensory play. You can really see how it all builds towards the babies becoming confident little swimmers over time, rather than rushing anything. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Little Turtle Swim Company to any new parent looking for a supportive, nurturing and confidence-building start to swimming.”

“Big park with plenty going on when we went. Plenty of spaces for car parking. Toilets on site. A big bar/restaurant where you can order on the app (green king). There is a splash pad which the youngsters will enjoy on a warm day. There was a big inflatable obstacle course, but I don't know if that's a permanent feature. There's play parks and a big boating lake where you can hire pedalos. And a big wheel.”

“Peaceful, good walks and great hides for watching wildlife and, if you like watching trains there is the Haversham Viaduct on the North West mainline from Euston.”

“Personally, a hidden gem in MK. Wasn’t crowded at all on the weekend we went. Nice place for a walk with family and friends. Well maintained. Good for picnics. Different events take place too. Highly recommend”

“Stanton Low Country Park stretches along the Canal , pathways are lengthy and many walkways takes you through gorgeous fields ,and a bridge that takes you in to more farmers fields over the canal , its sign posted quite well , and there is St Peters Church Ruins to have a look at ,In all it is a fantastic walk with children & dogs you choose your path ! There is grass paths to follow on if you want to take the children to the park , which is fantastic ! It has a mini zip line , little huts and climbing frames , a round a bout (without handles) a mini rock climb ,picnic tables and a slide . I must express there is no place to buy food or any public toilet ,and it is very exposed to the elements ie no shaded area ,unless you hustle yourself under a tree ! It's a very popular park , very clean ,and is advised to keep dogs on a leash whilst visiting the children's park in general . Parking I found was limited as the main entrance is on a housing estate.”

“Went here on a weekend, but was pleasantly surprised to find it not to busy! There was lots to do and see, including many animal sculptures/carvings and a storytelling event. The park is mostly wheelchair accessible and can easily be navigated. The only negative was the lack of maps around the park . i really enjoyed my visit and would recommend to anyone.”

“Beautiful walk - plenty to see and once you start walking, you don’t want to stop. Carry on walking along the canal and on to the lime quarry and railway bridge. An easy walk without too much effort!”

“Tried out Archery this morning and thoroughly enjoyed it! Our instructor, Henry, was really friendly and helpful. I was pleasantly surprised just how much shooting you can get done, I expected lots of boring safety talk but we got going pretty quickly - a very good balance. There were also challenges which made it more interesting! Not mentioned on the website but wrist guards are provided, so you don’t need a long sleeve to protect yourself, however they’re not providing finger guards any more and my fingertips did feel quite raw by the end - you may want to bring gloves (leather?) Finally I think it will be best if there aren’t many of you there, about 4 people seems the perfect number. Heartily recommend a visit!”

“The parking fee is £5.50 payable at the entrance next to a manned barrier. Decent parking spaces and there is a small coffee shop and toilets right next to it and a small outside gym. The first children's playground is opposite the coffee shop. There is a sandpit there and a nice climbing frame. And benches for picnics. The second one is further down the road on the left side. It has more climbing frames, swings, slides.. and benches to sit on. On the right side there is plenty of space for a picnic, a few benches overlooking the lake. And this is as far as we got. There is still a lot more to see and I can't wait to visit again. The weather has been amazing (we were really lucky) and it felt so peaceful here.”

“So much fun when it snows! Enough for a small snow man, beautiful in summer, big play area for kids, little hill for snow sledging and big enough to walk around for a while or look at the ducks on the pond :)”

“Great outdoor space with tree lined walking paths, streams and canal paths great for family days out. This area is located in the Water Eaton district of Bletchley, but can also be accessed via the Rugby Club just off of Watling Street opposite Dobbies Garden Centre. Ample free parking can be found, there is also a nice little play area for the kids. Great picnic space for those warm days, there are picnic tables and seating scattered about so you do not have to sit on the grass. There is also a community orchard to be found there, ample seating and you are allowed to pick the fruit when it is in season. Great place would recommend a visit.”

“A lovely, large and sprawling park perfect for a hot summer day to chill out and relax in. There are a number of benches for resting and a good number of litter and dog waste bins. The park is surrounded by woods and the Grand Union Canal and is a short walk to local shops. In the summer football and cricket are played on the fields.”

“Absolutely fantastic stay at Handley Barn during a visit to the Foot Health 2024 conference at Silverstone in June. I will most definitely be staying there again next year. Great location, beautiful rooms and perfect hosts. The views from Handley Barn are breathtaking. During our stay, we ate at The New Inn in the nearby village of Abthorpe which I would also highly recommend. A perfect stay in a perfect location - simply wonderful!”

“Our 8 year old granddaughter has been going to swimming classes here since it opened. Although she could just swim a few strokes, she used to be hesitant about getting her face wet, but now she is really confident above and under the water and really enjoys her weekly lesson which teaches the children to have confidence in the water and helps them learn the basics of all strokes. A great way to learn to swim.”

“Excellent for birthdays. We recently celebrated my son’s football-themed birthday party, and it was absolutely fantastic thanks to Luke! He was professional, enthusiastic, and so attentive to every detail. All the children had an amazing time, and every parent commented on how well-organised and fun it was and how attentive Luke was. Luke went above and beyond to make the day special — his energy, patience, and genuine care really stood out. Thank you, Luke, for making my son’s birthday one to remember!”

“A Perfect Day at Woburn Lido From the moment I arrived at Woburn Lido, I knew I was in for a treat. Nestled in the charming village of Woburn, this historic outdoor pool is a hidden gem that offers a delightful escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The first thing that struck me was the stunning Art Deco architecture. The beautifully restored changing rooms, with their vibrant tiles and classic arches, transported me back to the 1930s. It was like stepping into a different era, and I couldn’t help but admire the attention to detail that has gone into preserving this piece of history. As I dipped my toes into the crystal-clear water, I was pleasantly surprised by the perfect temperature. The pool is heated to a comfortable 26°C, making it ideal for a leisurely swim or a more vigorous workout. The separate paddling pool for children is a thoughtful touch, ensuring that families can enjoy their time here without any worries. The atmosphere at Woburn Lido is incredibly relaxing. Surrounded by lush greenery, the pool area feels like a tranquil oasis. I spent hours lounging by the pool, soaking up the sun, and taking refreshing dips whenever I felt like it. The friendly staff were always on hand, making sure everything was just right. One of the highlights of my visit was the sense of community. Locals and visitors alike come together here, creating a warm and welcoming environment. I had some lovely conversations with fellow swimmers, sharing stories and tips about the best spots in the area. After a day of swimming and relaxation, I treated myself to a delicious snack from the on-site kiosk. The selection of refreshments was impressive, and I enjoyed a tasty ice cream while basking in the late afternoon sun. As the day came to an end, I couldn’t help but feel grateful for this wonderful experience. Woburn Lido is more than just a swimming pool; it’s a place where memories are made. Whether you’re looking for a peaceful retreat or a fun day out with family and friends, Woburn Lido is the perfect destination.”

“A fantastic gym and pool, great atmosphere and friendly people. Special shout out to life guard John, he’s the friendliest and most helpful person, even helping me in the gym and pushing me. He adds a sparkle to the place!”
