“If you are considering studying with The Open University, opening these reviews may feel quite daunting and, quite frankly, may put you off doing it all together. However, I would encourage you to keep open-minded that everyone has a different experience and just because one person had a bad one, it doesn't mean you will. I studied with The Open University for 5 years and received a first class honours degree in Psychology in July 2023. I had to leave school at 15 due to illness and missed all of the crucial exams that would have enabled me to go down the traditional university route. If it had not been for The Open University, and the opportunity to study again without the strict entry criteria then I would not be where I am now. It is definitely hard work and you have to put the hours in (I was working full time and studying in the evenings and the weekends). However, if you are motivated, you can absolutely do it and it will be so worth it. If you require a lot of teaching from a tutor, and aren't able to do independent learning or research you may find it difficult but I actually enjoyed being able to learn at my own pace and in my own time. The learning materials and online study pages were easy to use and assignments were clear. My tutors were helpful although I did not need to reach out often. If you are thinking about it and believe you can do it, dont let the negative reviews put you off - it could absolutely be the right thing for you!”

“I did motor vehicle there level 1 and 2 best 2 years of my life tbh. It was back in 2018 and 2019 just before Covid hit. So I guess I was one of the last once who knew the college before it's a great place. Got along with all students and teachers. Passed my 2 years with flying colours, and it was a great time in general. If I could turn back time, I'd do it all over again!”
