   Went for a swim sauna and steam for the first time today and it will be the last unfortunately, it full of foreign middle aged men! Not one woman in there, I thought I'd walked into the men's area, I had to ask if I was in the right place! I was! I Went into the sauna first packed full of men all speaking in there own language I've never felt so uncomfortable in my life! I saw a man spit on the floor while I was in there then I went in the steam room, same story absolutely full, they had to move up so I could sit down, in this room one of the men blew his nose with his hands and flicked it on the floor! I left shortly after! All the men had the village hotels water bottles as well for some reason! It's so unfortunately as the facilities looked good.

   These swimming baths are so old and quaint. They have no trouble (unlike ennerdale and woodford the modern ones in hull). All staff very good and kept lively and clean.

   Gym review Poorly set up for customers. Constantly changing to accommodate 'ladies only' days which I don't have a problem with but do have a problem with the need for constantly forcing divide. Men have confidence issues too but their voices are ignored. If they carry on the way they are going they'll end up alienating a lot of their core customers

   It's not bad, a fairly large swimming pool and then a smaller one for kids. Rather clean and warm and its great if you just wanna swim. Other than that there isn't much else to do in the pool area.

   A really good little gym and pool with steam room and sauna. Restored and updated relatively recently. There still many lovely old architectural features. Staff are friendly. Sue recommends the aquarobics classes and the gym fits my needs perfectly

   Lovely venue especially now it's been restored. The gym is a fairly limited in terms of the space and machines it's got but it enough for the average person to keep fit. The pool is, excellent. If you want to have a proper swim, go during the adult or lane swimming times, the pool gets quite full of people standing around or playing games at other times

   We had a really great time at Beverley Road Baths attending a public swim session! When we arrived, the session had already started so we went straight in to reception which is on the left when you walk in. We paid there (card or cash is fine) and there is the option to buy some armbands and goggles and a few other bits which is handy if you’ve forgotten yours. Then we went in to the pool area which is through some double doors near the reception. The pool area and all the changing cubicles and toilets etc was all very clean and it was nice and warm in there. The changing rooms and lockers are all around the pool itself so it’s really easy to see everything you need as soon as you walk in. You’ll need a £1 coin or a trolley coin for the locker (it’s returned to you) and the key is on a hard plastic band which you can tighten and put round your wrist. The toilets and showers are in a room at the far end of the pool and are separate for each gender. The showers are mostly communal once you are in the gender specific room but we did notice there was one shower in a private cubicle too. There are plenty of changing cubicles around the pool and lots of lockers. We did notice a few people left their stuff in cubicles which could be tricky at busier times. The pool itself was a good temperature and the lifeguards were vigilant in terms of any rough behaviour in or around the pool and safety etc. The main pool had the choice of the typical metal ladders to get in or a more staggered set of metal ladders that were more like a small stairway. There is a smaller pool for little children but we didn’t try that when we visited. The children and families in there looked happy enough though! At the end of the session, the lifeguard blew a whistle and announced the public swim was ending now so it was very clear that it was time to get out. After the swim ended, we had time to shower and get dressed and did not feel rushed which was nice. We will definitely visit the baths again for a nice swim.
