Would definitely recommend Hawthorne Bunny Hotel, we left our rabbit with Melissa for a week, we were shown around the 'hotel', there was loads of room, and things to keep him occupied whilst we were away. We felt comfortable leaving him there. He was himself after collecting him after our holiday, so I think he enjoyed himself, and was not stressed. We had a photo and update whilst away, which was a nice touch. We have booked again for later in the year. Many thanks, James and mum.

The only bunny hotel I would trust with my fur babies Mel treats her guests as she would her very own pets and notices if they are not themselves which for buns that is vital as they have a habit of hiding any 'ills' ...our bun sulks when he comes home because he's had such a great time making friends with his holiday neighbours. Would give more stars if I could.

Every time we've left our guinea pigs here they have always been well looked after. Melissa really cares passionately about the small animals in her care, looking after them like they are her own, and the piggies have always come away from here happy, healthy and well cared for. It's like a holiday for them too!

Melissa is amazing. I would never leave my rabbit Flash anywhere else whilst I am away from home. I cannot recommend the place enough. Flash has been on holiday with Melissa probably half a dozen times so far. 5* from Flash and myself.

Iv used hawthorne bunny hotel for a number of years. My bunnies love to stay as they are spoilt and well looked after. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a place for their small animals to stay. This is a very professional set up

Our Bunnies are always looked after and loved when they visit Mel . They get their own suite and it's wonderful to know they are in safe hands. Hawthorne Bunny hotel is absolutley perfect in every way and we can't recommend it enough. Mel is great with communication whilst we are away and sends pictures and stories of Marilyn and Stirling playing in their suite which is great fun to read and very thoughtful . Thanks Mel , you're simply brilliant!

The Security Gates Were Left Open Whilst Melissa Was Out. Resulting In The Theft Of My Precious Tortoise Harry. Harry had stayed here on many occasions, however, the last time Harry stayed, he had escaped from a small inadequate temporary enclosure on the morning we were collecting him. After a search of the grounds which are vast, combined with the pressure that Melissa was going out at a certain time, with heavy hearts we had to head on our long journey home to the East of Scotland, having to leave Harry there, hoping that he would be found. Harry was found a few days later, which was ecstatic news for us. Having been given a couple of options, which we considered, we decided to take up Melissa's kind offer of leaving Harry in her safe hands and collecting him, when we were next down south, which under the circumstances, we were now planning to be back down in a couple of weeks, to collect Harry. Melissa was contacted by my husband on the Sunday evening to make arrangements for Harry's collection the following morning, however, rather than arrangements being made for Harry's collection, Melissa informed my husband that she had sent me an email on Tuesday, to which I had not replied. I had not replied, as I knew nothing about an email, as I had not recieved one. Melissa informed my husband that she had, had a terrible week, but still no arrangements were made for Harry being collected next day. Melissa said she would resend the email. I recieved the email that night, which informed me that Harry had been stolen from the grounds of the pet hotel on Tuesday. The security gates had been left open whilst Melissa was out. A witness had seen a man carrying a Tortoise, namely Harry, down the drive and putting the tortoise in a van. I cannot put into words how I felt when reading that email, nor could I fathom out why someone would send an email with news like that, but worse, no communication to find out why there had been no reply back from the email that she had sent. Harry was stolen on Tuesday. This was Sunday night. Each time we dropped Harry off and collected him, the security gates were always closed I would never have considered this pet hotel, had I known that the gates were left open at times. It is with regret that due to these circumstances I cannot leave a good review. We are absolutely devastated being left without Harry, wondering if he is being looked after or is he suffering? Harry brought so much joy to the family. I honestly feel that I have let Harry down, by choosing a place with security gates that are at times left open. What are security gates for? Security gates are only secure when they are closed.

This place is awesome! Booked my kids' 2 guinea pigs in for 9 days this summer. Melissa was really friendly and helpful from my first Facebook message to picking them up. The hotel space is bright and airy and full of very contented bunnies, piggies and all manner of other small pets. You provide the pelleted food for your pets but they provide everything else: hay, veggies, clean bedding etc etc. Very reasonable prices and much better than relying on parents/family/friends to visit your house every day while you're away. Highly recommended! Not sure the guinea pigs have ever had it so good!!! Thank you Melissa and all at Hawthorne Pet Hotel!
