We really enjoyed your stay in this magical place. Naomi the owner is so friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were delicious and it was great to relax with a cuppa in the sitting room with a real fire. Handy for walking to Dovedale and visiting Ilam nearby.
Amazing setting, so peaceful and beautiful surroundings. Hosts are so friendly and welcoming, on arrival we were offered tea/coffee and home made biscuits in the drawing room with a welcoming open fire. Lovely original building with very comfortable rooms and everything you need provided, spotlessly clean and nice bathroom with roll top bath and great shower. Very comfortable bed and fantastic nights sleep. Breakfast is pre ordered the day before(like this idea, very well organised) and it was very enjoyable with a good selection to choose from….the home made granola and jams were delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend! We will absolutely come back again next time we are in the area. Thanks again Matt & Kerrie
We last visited 25 years ago and it was like visiting an old friend. The house is lovely and quiet and the grounds gorgeous. Everyone was helpful and nothing was a bother. Hopefully won't be another 25 years.
Had the most amazing stay at Stanshope Hall. Would 100% return again. So very friendly from arrival to leaving. Couldn't have done anything more for us. Arrival was perfect with fresh mint tea and homemade biscuits. Breakfast was beautiful. Thank you so much.
An absolutely lovely B&B, full of character, in the most perfect location. We were welcomed on arrival with a tray of tea, coffee and freshly made cakes (the best ginger cake I have ever eaten!) The breakfast was delicious and there is so much choice. The room was big and comfortable with everything we could need. There are so many walks from the doorstep, other than going out for dinner there is no need to drive anywhere. Highly recommended and we would love to stay again.
Tiny room freezing cold heating had been turned off, not a very good host. Not doing breakfast till after 8 which was Not any good to us as was leaving before then. Asked for some toast and the host refused. No way a 4 star hotel more a 2 star bnb. The tv was that old it was set up on a digi box
We had a great 2 night stay at Stanshope hall. We were made to feel very welcome. The house itself is lovely and the beds very comfy. Breakfast was delicious. Good location - there’s a nice 10km circular walk through Dovedale and back to Stanshope which is very pleasant. Will be keen to visit again.
