   Awful! AVOID!! We booked to stay 1 night to celebrate our daughters birthday. The hotel advertises room service online (which our LG was very excited about) upon arrival we discovered that not only was there no room service, but absolutely NO food available on site whatsoever! A disappointing start was about to get worse... The key card would not open the door so another trip to reception was needed. Eventually when we got in to the room we were greeted by the smell of stale cigarette smoke and weed. There were dog hairs all over the bed and carpet, the 3 coffee cups in the room were filthy, as was the inside of the kettle. There were pubes in the bath and the pillows were wafer thin. Only one spare pillow left in a room with 3 beds. This meant another two trips to reception to ask for an extra pillow but to no avail. The overall appearance of the hotel is tired and run down. Such a shame because we stayed here a few years ago and had a great experience. We were really looking forward to our stay. On this occasion though, we decided to pack up and leave before spending a night in such a dump. Will NOT be going back.

   Booked for three nights while needing to be in Telford. The website looks great and was only a few minutes away by car. perfect! Don't be fooled We booked direct, you'll think they would be able to find our booking ... took them 20 mins.... didn't say anything about no bar, no restaurant, that was for us to find out ourselves. I booked and paid £80 a night on the assumption that there would be a bar for the evening and breakfast in the morning...Na No working lift, no restaurant and no bar… the bar was shut every time we looked. Dirty cup in the room the tea/coffee, only one had to go ask for another ...we washed that before use! The room smelt smoky ...and not tobacco. Ash on the windowsills. We had a lovely meal out in the evening, at the Huntsman in little Wenlock and we asked if they would do us a breakfast as well! and when we said where we were staying ... they said yes, they all understood! So, guess Buckatree Hall Hotel has been going downhill a while now, we were told that it was possibly earmarked for housing refugees, but how true that is don't know. They did offer 10% off next booking! but it ran out the end of the month we stayed ... no chance!

   We booked a room here last minute and arrived late evening. We were informed at Check-In that the heating wasn't working in the hotel and we were asked if we were ok with that, as refunds couldn't be given once we had Check-In. We asked if we could check the temperature of the room before deciding. This was accomodated. Walking through the corridors to our room, we were met with the horrible smell of tobacco and weed. The room itself would of been too cold for me to sleep in, so we were offered a "4 poster bed" room instead. The last room that was available. Again, we asked to gauge the temperature of the room. This room was slightly warmer. With the lateness of our arrival, we agreed to stay in this room for the night. The room was quite basic and in need of updating. The bathroom ceiling and shower curtain had mold on them. In the bathroom of this double room, was one, sample sized complementary bottle of shampoo and one conditioner (for two people). There was no hand wash/soap. There was an opened packet of tobacco in the dresser drawer. The mattress on the bed was comfortable. Firm. We both managed to sleep soundly. It is not a place that I would choose to stay at again though, nor recommend. There is much improvement needed. In the right hands, this could be a beautiful hotel. Right now though, sadly, it is not.

   We didn't have a room, we drove there for afternoon tea, and although they do not do afternoon tea, we were served by wonderful staff, who accommodated us just for the tea we had. BUT they even went the extra mile by offering to cook us something. There are tepees and an outdoor ceremony space. So much to enjoy, in a place we found by accident and needed a coffee. Would honestly highly recommend this venue for what ever event you have coming up.

   This was the worst night I've spent in any hotel in the UK. We should have been prepared for what to expect when the receptionist was unsure whether we had paid or not with our confirmation email not being particularly clear. Our room was deep in the bowels of the hotel which was very poorly signed and with the smell of damp overpowering. The lights didn't work in most of the room so we relied on a table lamp. When we worked out my husband hadn't paid, he headed off to clear the bill. While he was paying, a complete family of strangers let themselves into our room as they had been given keys. Luckily I was fully clothed but my two young daughters were not and they were understandably upset. When my husband returned, our key cards no longer worked as they had been superseded by those of the new family. It turns out the new family's surname was the same as my husband's first name which had confused the man on reception, despite having dealt with us less than an hour before. We then discovered that the neighbouring room had been let out to a bunch of lads and their dog. One was on zoom calls until 4am when his drunken mates came home and proceeded to sit up chatting for hours with their dog barking. This is when we discovered that our room, where my two little girls were sleeping, was only separated from theirs by an unlocked door which offered no sound insulation. The location is beautiful but until the staff are better trained and improvement works undertaken, it's not worth it.

   Breakfast is lovely, main meals are nice. Room's are nice but need updating desperately as all of the decors. As for location absolutely lovely.

   Stayed for 1 night as was doing sightseeing around the area. Was welcomed by the receptionist and had a room with a balcony at the front which was nice. The bed was very comfortable along with the usual things there was a hair dryer iron and ironing board too. Breakfast was good so if I was in the area again would definitely stay and try the evening meal. A very pleasant stay.

   Booked the hotel for a wedding. On arrival, the receptionist very dry and might need more training in customer service. Room was ok, but very dated. There was no information folder, so no idea what time meals were on from and until. Mugs in our room were dirty and had sticky stuff at bottom of the mug. We didn't have our room cleaned at all, for the 2 days we stayed and had to grab a cleaner to get more shower gel, tea bags and coffee. So not a good start. Asked what time we wanted breakfast, so we said 8am. Came down at 8am and no hot food set out!!!!!! This is not good enough for a hotel The wedding food was lovely and this is the only good thing about the hotel. The evening bar staff were very slow and only 1 card machine between the 2 busy bars. You couldn't pay in the one bar by cash, due to not having a 'till float'. The evening got even worse, as once all wedding guests finished their buffet, the staff didn't come round to clear away the dishes. So all plates piled high on all tables. This is just absurd, as hospitality should be on top of this process. Seems the new owners have no clue and lacked serving staff all night. The Highlight of the evening was the lack of staff to deal with sick on the carpet. This was near our table and was reported to the bar staff numerous times. In fact at least 5 times. People near this mess, put a chair by it too prevent anyone walking through it. The sick was still there until we left after 12.10am. The owners of this hotel need to get their act together and rectify these issues. If you have a function on, then provide enough hospitality staff. Residents were not allowed to stay in the bar after the wedding, as no staff about. On our departure day, again the receptionist didn't ask if we enjoyed and was the service ok. Again, think all staff need training or just employ people who understand about hospitality. We will not be returning to this hotel and not recommend

   Got married here 15 years ago and returned for our anniversary. The place has hardly changed. But that’s not a bad thing. Bed was comfortable and breakfast was great!
