It was my favourite Subway, great seating, amazing staff, always polite. Sandwiches are great. But the reason I was going to this subway because it was still offering refillable drinks. Today I’ve told they don’t do it anymore as they changed franchise company. They still got cups, machine accessible for customers but you can’t refill. I believe it’s very cheap by the company to restrict refills. By cutting their expenses by 10-20p, they are destroying customer experience. To be fair, sandwich was great today, staff polite, but company policy is terrible.

Visited 9 November 2025, 1 pm. My sub was wrapped so poorly it fell apart when unwrapped. I asked for a simple fix: re-wrap and cut it on the paper so it could be eaten cleanly. The server checked with the supervisor, who said they cannot cut on the wrap. I was refused both a re-wrap and the option to cut it myself. The result was an inedible sandwich and avoidable waste. This reads as a policy/training problem, not a one-off staff issue. Please confirm whether cutting on the wrap is allowed, correct this branch accordingly, and retrain the team. I’m not seeking a refund; I expect a public response here. Branch: Subway, Unit 2, Equity House, The Bourse, 21 Boar Lane, Leeds LS1 5EQ.

I visited this Subway restaurant in Leeds in the early hours of November 1st, around 2 a.m., after celebrating Halloween with my partner and a friend. We stopped for some food before going home. What happened was shocking — I have never experienced anything like this in a restaurant before. While I sat down, my partner and his friend went to order. Both had had a couple of drinks, but neither of them was loud, disrespectful or behaving in any inappropriate way. However, the staff suddenly told my partner to leave the restaurant and wait outside while his friend collected the food. It’s important to mention that my partner is a British citizen of Indian origin, with brown skin and Asian features, while his friend is white, blonde and blue-eyed. Both were acting in exactly the same way — calmly and politely. The restaurant was full of people in Halloween costumes, many of them clearly intoxicated, yet nobody else was asked to leave. Only my partner, and he was spoken to rudely. Even though he didn’t raise his voice or resist, the staff immediately called security, and the guard tried to put his hands on him to remove him from the restaurant. My partner had to ask him not to touch him. I left with him, of course — but I can’t stop thinking that nobody ever asks me to leave any place, perhaps because I’m white and blonde. I understand that under UK licensing law, staff have the right to refuse service to customers who are clearly intoxicated. But this was not the case — my partner was calm and collected, and the situation was handled in an unnecessarily aggressive and discriminatory way. Sadly, many people of colour in the UK have reported similar experiences in nightlife and hospitality settings, where they are treated differently based on how they look. I sincerely hope this incident will be reviewed carefully, and that staff will receive proper training to prevent racial bias and ensure that every customer is treated with fairness and dignity.

As humans we get that desire once every few months to have a subway. I tried this subway (which is halal) I did a pickup order through the app, since it’s cheaper and there was a discount going on! I paid £6 for a foot long BLT. The sub was good, however, there was 2 employees that were bombarded with drivers that kept coming in the restaurant for their online orders, which of course is normal. But there was now a queue of customers waiting for their subway. I managed to get mine earlier. Overall 3.5 or 4/5

The fact that we have to leave even one star is too much. The customer service at this branch was appalling. The staff were tutting, sighing, rolling eyes and muttering under their breath as well swearing. Another staff member yelled at us from across the store despite being wrong in whatever he was yelling at us about. It was such a hostile environment that we felt so uncomfortable we had to leave. Absolutely disgusting behaviour, I was a regular customer but won’t be going back. Their names were Ding and Toushan.

Very bad experience with staff. When I showed my subway card to the staff before I order to check my points balance she told me how much balance I have. After I ordered and wanted to redeem points they said the machine is not working to redeem points. I have worked in fast food industry before and I know employee's lies when it comes to redeem rewards points. A very bad experience.

It is not better to eat in a restaurant. The noise is very loud. The restaurant is beautiful and the food is also delicious. The place is central London, so there are many public bus and taxi stops. You have the right to choose everything in the sandwich. As for the prices, they are somewhat overpriced. Most of the staff are great and provide fast service as well. If you work near it then it will be the best choice.

Unfortunately as others have said, grumpy staff, poor portions. If you don’t have supersonic hearing they get grumpy as I asked a lady to repeat herself as she was spinning around to the oven. She then pointed to lettuce and spinach and said ‘that or that’. Really not necessary, did enjoy watching others get similar treatment so made me feel less stupid
