Food and service is consistently amazing here. My favourite is the seabass. The flavors are perfectly balanced with the salty crispy fish and creamy mild sauce. The beans and peas provide a pleasant contrast in textures, along with the freshness of the peas. We eat here most weeks. Amazing value too.

We booked and they were busy. Service here is excellent. Very friendly and helpful. We had a 2 for 1 offer on the roast dinner with a dessert. The choices were great and included a vegetarian option. I had chicken, yorkshire pudding and vegetables and my partner had roast pork. It was really really good and all cooked to perfection and a large portion. We felt very full but had our dessert in the offer and they looked delicious. The tiramasu, made with kahula was gorgeous and one of the best tiramasus I have ever had! It tasted lovely and was a huge piece. I ended up bringing most of it home, because I was full but couldn't possibly leave it. My partner had the apple and cinnamon crumble with ice cream- which smells like christmas and was also delicious and a large portion. So half of that came home too. Extremely impressed and will definetly go again.

Havent eaten here for 10 years and we dont eat out much- got to feel worth the money and this totally did. Very attentive and friendly service. Came with our two children and the kids burger was SO nice we kept trying to eat it! Utterly recommend the ox cheek special- the meat fell apart and was melt in the mouth. Gorgeous red wine, and the chocolate brownie desert was wonderful. We will be back, top marks to new ownership.

A totally random visit after a long time since I last came here and I was very impressed! There is a new secret garden area which was comfortably furnished and very relaxing with the music. Our 5 year old enjoyed her fish and chips, which was proper fish and chips and a really generous portion, enough for me as an adult, for £5! It was great that we could sit outside too as it was quiet and relaxing - we sometimes struggle with indoor dining with our little one. I was spoilt for choice with the veggie mains but ended up going for the Moroccan salad which is a lighter dish for a summer's afternoon. The staff are really friendly and gave me a student card where I can get 50% off my meal in future. Such a good dining experience, thank you.

This is, without a doubt the best roast dinner we have ever had. The restaurant is welcoming and cozy, and the staff are incredibly friendly. I had the roast chicken, and my husband had the porky belly. Everything was cooked to perfection, with perfect portion sizes, and the seasoning was just amazing. Thyme Cafe is the perfect destination for comforting food, a relaxed atmosphere, and amazing food. I highly recommend that everyone pays a visit.

Firstly - the food is excellent. Gourmet, properly made in a real restaurant kitchen. We ate on Saturday lunchtime, and enjoyed the experience However - it is pricey, not "Cafe" prices, certainly. And the service at peak times is somewhat slow, as they are taking time to construct each meal. We waited 40,50 minutes?

We arrived at a Saturday lunchtime, it was very busy but we were given a table straight away. Very nice ambiance and extensive blackboard menu. The fish & chips were excellent, the fish was superbly cooked. The vegetarian salad was nice with many ingredients, although I expected the roasted butternut squash to be warm. The halloumi was slightly warm, but I would have preferred the other ingredients to be closer to room temperature than fridge cold.
