I had a meal here with friends and my son came to collect me. He waited in the car park for only 5 minutes and now has a £100 parking fine. That does not seem something a friendly establishment would do.

Room no 3 very noisy as it's over the bar but it was comfy, and they gave me a room wth a bath, which obvs isn't usually booked in i dont think, due to it being over the bar entrance, it was a Fri/satdy night so be sure to ask for rooms 5 onwards! Plus bath tap was HARD to turn off for the hot water, not great for someone like me with rheumatoid But the staff were amazing just that room noise, otherwise 5 stars all round

The buffet provided for a birthday party was very good and I liked the fact that all of it, including sandwiches was served to you from a counter so nice and hygienic. The full English was excellent and the waffle berries and yoghurt choice looked good too. The only downside to this establishment is that it is that the bar is very popular so noise is heard in some bedrooms. The rooms or some of them) need a freshen up in the bathrooms and the windows need upgrading so that there are not gaps around them. The stair carpet needs a thorough wash or replacement too but at least the mirrors have plugs and tables next to them for using curling tongs etc and there is good lighting. If a room has two occupants it is usual to provide two bath towels and not one as is the case here.

Possibly one of the worst hotels I’ve been to in a long time! Literally terrible from the first minute. Arrived on Tuesday evening and had to call the reception staff who was miserable and had no personality at all. Was like I was inconveniencing him. Got the keys to room one and entered the room and it was like a homeless shelter. Marks on the carpet and walls. Cracks in the wall as well. Loud extractor fan going all day outside the window and painfully dire view of it. The bathroom was awful with a broken toilet seat and a shower which leaked and roasted you to death due to the thermostat not working. Told staff at reception about this and not a care in the world and weren’t interested at all. Nothing was fixed or rectified. Breakfast was pathetic and was the cheapest continental breakfast on the planet with a quarter cup of tea to wash it down. So many other problems but forget it, glad it’s over! Do not, under any circumstances go to this hotel. If you are planning to book this hotel, just go to a local homeless shelter, it will be better than this!

Stayed at The Forest Hotel recently following a friend’s birthday event. I left a wash bag in the room upon checking out, however the staff could not have been more helpful in reuniting me with my lost property. Thanks to Katie‘s assistance, I received the wash bag through the post within only a few days of my stay. Great example of customer service, very much appreciated.

We had a family 50th birthday here yesterday and everything was fantastic. The private dining suite was spacious and lovely. The food was incredible both meat and veggie options. Joe who looked after us was perfect ensuring we had drinks, music, heating and of course food. Thank you to Joe, staff and chefs for making the event really enjoyable.

Drinks were fine unable to get a seat at the time we visited. Some people had reserved seats just for a drink.
