Arrived for 1pm for Sunday lunch and were promply seated. The service was speedy and very firendly. Because we sat by the entrance, it was a little drafty, however. Both of us ordered a chicken roast, which consisted of a breast + thigh, yorkshire pudding, veg, roast potaoes, thyme stuffing, root mash and gravy. When I asked to swap roast potatoes for potato mash, this was no problem and the mash was delicious. Everything else was very tasty too, apart from the meet, which was very dry and tough. Hence, I left most of it. Given that this is the main part of the meal, it was very disappointing. Regardless, I would give The Railway Inn another go and maybe try one of the other dishes, and hope our experience with the meat was a one-off.

Great food. Slightly higher in price than I had expected but worth it. Quite a close proximity between tables but still room for a private conversation.

We went last Sunday it was great from start to finish. They had disabled parking, which was right outside. They were prompt in seating us and taking our order. The drinks came and soon after the food. One of our party had beef and The other person had pork. The food was amazing the Yorkshires are huge! The portions are generous and therefore filling. The area we sat in which was opposite the bar was not huge, but it did not feel cramped. It has recently been renovated to a high standard and this was noted by us. We were able to take Home a doggy bag for our pooch, which was great and thoroughly enjoyed by Luca! Perhaps the only improvement we would like to suggest is more vegetables on the plates and less carbs! Great food and great service, therefore happy customers and customers who will be back and raving about it to other people! Thank you very much !

We had a lovely time this afternoon. Seated promptly and attended immediately, even though it was very busy. We were looked after by the very capable and pleasant, Bella. She couldn't do enough for us, and made our dining experience a very pleasant one. The food was excellent, although we needed a doggy box, for my wife's plentiful, tri roast dinner. We spent post dinner in the beer garden, which is abundant and well set out. We will definitely be back. Highly recommended.

Holy cow! We just enjoyed the BEST Sunday roast ever! Proper home cooked food and ample proportions. Hubby had the trio of meet (pork beef & chicken) & I had beef. The meet was so tender. Plenty of roasties speed and carrot & veg. A huge Yorkshire pudding and delicious gravy. Magnificent! My friend recommended the cauliflower cheese and pigs in blankets. Astounding. I’ve never had such a nice Sunday roast at any eatery. The owner is really friendly and all the staff are attentive. I can’t wait to go back for their home cooked pies. Highly recommend to anyone after a lovely atmosphere and home cooked food.

We had an excellent evening with good quality food and a very interesting choice of well priced meals on both the standard menu and special’s board. Well kept TT Landlord beer, cosy but lively atmosphere and very attentive service. We will definitely back

A brilliant local pub where the food punches well above it’s size. Sunday lunch is excellent, normal menu is great and the outside garden space is delightful in the warmer weather. I’d recommend booking for food as it does get busy.

10 out of 10. I've eaten mediocre food at plenty of pubs, but the railway stood out a mile. Food was fresh, tasty and cooked to perfection. As good as my Nans meals, from many many years ago !!
