I have been a few times and the food is always brilliant. The service is also great and the place is clean. Unfortunately this time there was a small minus, my cappuccino wasn't hot or wven lukewarm. My friends was the same, so i mentioned it and they were replaced. At the end of our lovely set menu i had another cappuccino and this time it was dangerously hot. I didn't mention it but did burn my tongue a little on it. Im thinking the coffee machine isnt working properly.

We have been there twice in the last month which is a good sign. On the first occasion the red wine choice was very disappointing with two out if my first three choices unavailable and the third one was corked but on the second visit, all the wines were available and delicious. The staff are charming, knowledgeable and helpful which is great and the food is served in good time. It is in a tough market and it is considerably more expensive than the other restaurants around but it is nice to have an upmarket Italian nearby to give choice and competition to the Indians, Chinese and Lis Banditos up the road.

Went for early evening dinner with friends. It's a very small restaurant serving Italian food so would recommend making a reservation to be sure of a place. Good selection of menu choices at a reasonable price. There was also a set price menu of 4 courses for Β£16.99 which covered a starter, main course, dessert and a coffee. Portion sizes were good and the food was tasty. The wines are Italian and a little pricey but with the set meal, evens out at a good value evening. The staff are friendly and helpful. Will certainly return.

I don't like to give bad reviews. I give credit to where its due. We don't go out for a meal very often, so after reading the other reviews I was looking forward to my meal here. Unfortunately I was really disappointed. The bread brought out was tiger bread from Tesco, not homemade or better quality bread. All my meals had been microwaved. The only fresh thing i had all night was the coffee, which was nice. The girl serving us was lovely and was very polite. Hats off to her, she made the coffee. Sorry La Caverna, put less things on the menu and concentrate on quality not quantity.

Very good menu and excellent value if you have the 3 courses and coffee for Β£16.95. Very pleasant and attentive waitress. Small, only 10 tables, very quiet tonight(Thursday) but booking essential on weekends

Visited on 19.05.18 after reading the reviews on here and wish Iβd saved the money. The wines are over priced by about Β£4-Β£5 for the quality and food is lacking to say the least, itβs like someone is cooking Italian food for people who donβt know what Italian food should look/taste like. 6 king prawns swimming in butter on a plate with a pile of iceberg lettuce, cucumber and tomato accompanied with a small bowl of vegetables does not warrant Β£22. The whole experience was as if they were just phoning it in-even the dessert was nothing like the menu which showed a very nice cake, what I got was a piece of tasteless frozen mass-produced sponge akin to the ones you get when you go on an all-inclusive package holiday, look nice taste of nothing. Iβd expect a pile of iceberg on something ordered in cafe not as part of a main course where the end bill for 1 bottle of wine, 2 starters, 2 mains and 1 dessert is in the Β£100 region. This place has to either lower its prices or up its game, if you want to charge that kind of money you have to deliver on quality- this doesnβt include a pile of βsaladβ to file the gap on the plate. The staff were very nice and very attentive, itβs the food that fails here.
