First time at Kala and it was superb! Plenty of gluten free options for coeliacs and the quality and taste of the food was amazing. The atmosphere and service was great, our server was coeliac too so very knowledgeable about gluten free options and recommendations. The bill wasn’t cheap but then again it was a treat including a lush bottle of wine, but worth every penny. We’re regulars at Kala’s sister restaurant Hispi in Didsbury, but I have to say Kala really upped its game and both me and my husband thought the food was tastier and might make it a new regular even though it’s further away from where we live!

This restaurant was recommended to me by a local from Manchester when I asked for recommendations for a nice Sunday Roast. I’d been to the UK quite a few times and realized that I’d never tried it. And Kala definitely did not disappoint. For Sundays they have a menu and it was definitely worth it. Everything came nice and warm and fantastically plated. It was absolutely delicious and worth the price! If I were to come back to Manchester, I would definitely try eating here again. Their deserts were to die for as well! It’s a good thing we decided to go for it even if we were already really full.

Been on the list to go for some time and felt the £20 bistro menu was a good entry point. Won't say I was disappointed but it changes monthly so it could be a different experience based on your tastes. Did feel as though the flavours were quite subtle. Will most likely come back to try some of the regular menu options to give a proper review.

Terrific place. Would definitely go again. The food was fabulous with perhaps one of the best Sunday Roasts I have ever had. My appetiser was a bit underwhelming and I don't think it was appropriately described on the menu but the main more than made up for it. It's a bit on the pricier side vs a pub roast but the quality is there. Service was very good too. A solid 9/10 overall.

Had a beautiful meal at Kala- everything was fantastic and the staff were very friendly and attentive - had the salmon and the chicken and the chips are the best chips I’ve ever had. All of the options looked great and I could probably have ordered anything off the menu. Even the bread was incredible! Nice relaxed atmosphere too. Only complaint is that I didn’t have room for desert as that also looked amazing!

We went to Kala for the first time for their Valentine's Day menu and we were very impressed! The food was absolutely fantastic and I wanted to try all the menu, the service was very attentive and friendly, the atmosphere was very nice with perfect levels of lighting and music. We'll definitely come back!

The best restaurant I’ve tried in Manchester so far! The atmosphere is buzzing and the staff are attentive and cheerful. The food is delicious with a fab range of texture and great flavour combinations (pushing the boat out while avoiding being unappetising). Recommend for meat lovers and veggies alike.

Lovely place for friends and couples I think! The staffs are really nice and all menu's great, yet my favourite was the soup on the restaurant course starter. I normally don't like the creaminess of any soup but Kala's soup was full of fresh taste of each ingredient.

Really enjoyable dinner location, bringing a little luxury to the evening. The lovely interior is elegant with some shine added in. Staff are attentive with even new team members drilled to look after the hungry. The open kitchen is a nice touch and only adds to the delight. Food wise it strikes a great balance between great cooking and menu size. The 2 courses were plenty for us though dessert looks really appetising. The duck was fantastic and cooked beautifully. One note is that everything we tried was quite rich so great for those looking for a little indulgence rather than just a light bite. The wine list is pretty impressive and the recommended wine pairings are well chosen. I wish the place the best of luck over the next year, it's great for small groups and brilliant value. It's a lovely mix of value, a touch of fine dining and a base of grounded hearty accessible food for body and soul.
