Honestly the worst fish and chips I've ever had! We had fish and fish bites but it was mainly batter with a slither of fish. Batter was also overcooked. Honestly a joke. Actually cannot believe how bad it was, I'm so disappointed as this is our local.
Nice shop. Prices have shot up this year though so I don't go as often. Not sure what u can get for £1 as one sausage is now £2.50!
Had a lovely portion of fish & chips recently. Freshly cooked & delicious. Always friendly & polite staff when serving. Highly recommended.
Apparently this is what is defined as a fish and scallop butty! It would of been nice if someone could of informed me prior to the visit that hiltons main fish supplier is birds-eye. And although I can understand the cost of living crisis difficulty, one single slither of a baby potatoe is not what I expect as a scallop butty, given other fish and chip shops in the local area offer a higher quality and quantity in their scallop butties. As a proud British native who considers fish&chip establishments to be a symbol of what it is to be British, I feel Hilton is not only failing its customers but the historical significance fish and chip shops have always held in our country.
Tried this Fish n Chip shop for the first time ever as new to area, so glad we googled and found it. We went Saturday not long before closing so the fish were fried to order, absolutely delicious, my portions were fabulous, and they were cooked to perfection. I got a fish and pinched a few of hubby's chips. There was lots of choice on the menu all reasonably priced, and I noticed whilst waiting that they did lunchtime deals etc. Served by a helpful friendly lady. Highly recommend, the best in the area that we have tried, and will definitely be going back to.
I like my fish well done so it was cooked to order. Never a problem.
Absolutely fantastic fish n chips served up with beautiful Irish curry sauce by gorgeous blonde fit bird .at a very reasonable price .it's now 1 of my regular stop offs
Best chippy for miles. Fish is always fresh and delicious and the chips are perfect too. Chinese curry sauce is a bonus as are scraps, mushy peas and the fantastic friendly service.
Poor service and worse food. Went in, place was empty, so ordered two fish. Said I was popping next door for milk and the guy frying said that was fine. Made it clear I'd be back quickly. When I came back two more blokes in the shop and one was ordering and paying. Both got served before me, so each time the fish they were cooking for me got given to the others and another load had to be put in. If that wasn't bad enough when we got home the chips were cold, the bread had lumps of butter where the woman serving had rushed it and the food left a horrible grease residue on the roof of your mouth. Awful. Won't be going again.
