We recently moved to the area and this was the first time we had had fish and chips from here, we were definitely not disappointed the portions are large and so tasty, we thoroughly enjoyed them and would recommend.

My absolute favourite fish and chips place! It just tastes the best here and the portion size is so big, just lovely all over. Perfect amount of greasy and perfect consistency!! Also love their curry sauce.

A small little chippie. Great service, with a bit of friendly chat. Food quality is fantastic and is cooked to order. Family deal on a Tuesday and a Saturday which is a right bargain. So glad I found this super place, don't go anywhere else now.

Visited the fish shop following another competitor in the area was closed when meant to be open, did us a favour. I must say it was a delightful visit, fantastic piece of haddock, cooked in beef dripping to perfection. Would definitely revisit and would highly recommend. Well done guys! Worth the que.

Lovely friendly, small chippy. Tea time Friday so busy, queuing outside so huddled in as raining. Fish cooked to order, very tasty, fridge with pop too, lovely x

Ignore my remarks below, the new owners have got it spot on! I'll be back again tonight. Agree with previous reviewer re chips undercooked and fish leathery & overcooked. In my opinion it seems to me that both fryers are not hot enough or are at the same temperature, instead of one medium and one high. When I do fish and chips I cook the chips at medium temp until soft, then on high, to crisp. (But I usually put them on to boil in water for a few minutes first.) The fish should be cooked at a high temperature for no more than 3 mins giving a crisp batter and moist fish, just flaking.

Where do we start ... The fish ( in this case plural ) were cooked very well, meeting usual expectations of dense, white flaky meat with golden crisp batter that stayed moderately crunchy with only the base being soggy due to the excess of oil that was ignored of and not drained - however this ensured it was fresh which resulted in a good overall meal. The chips however were on the pale and soggy side, these did not accompany the crisp fish and were a slight let down - the choice to also put on own salt and vinegar was unmet resulting in all meals coated thickly with too much salt, this definitely making us thirsty. However they were soft and fluffy and all markings / bruises from potatoes were removed - leaving us satisfied. The sausage was mediocre, yet this was ideal as mediocre is perfect in a decently battered, fatty yet firm sausage - leaving us yet again satisfied. Finally we have the curry sauce, slightly above average with few lumps and just the right consistency - meeting our expectations once again. Would we come again? Yes.
