   We visited The White Horse on Saturday 25th October — wow, what an experience! From the moment we walked through the door, we were warmly welcomed by the staff. The chef even came out personally to explain the menu to us. I mentioned a dish I’d had on a previous visit, thinking it was on the main menu, but it turned out to have been a special. To my surprise, the chef insisted on making it for me anyway — a trio of fillet steak — and it was absolutely amazing. The atmosphere was perfect: warm, relaxed, and wonderfully welcoming for a country pub. I honestly can’t recommend The White Horse highly enough. Thank you for a truly memorable evening!

   Aww wow! Go here! We go to bawtry most Sundays, So we decided to explore the surrounding villages, this place was amazing. We rocked up after serving time, and the chef ( lovely lovely guy) came out and showed us the menus, and was more than happy to cook for us. The food was outstanding! The atmosphere was so nice and all the staff were helpful, funny and lovely! We’re going again next week. X

   We’ve been to The White Horse, Misson, near Bawtry this evening. This lovely traditional pub is famous for quality meat (including Wagyu beef) and several different fish dishes, all served in good portions - no one leaves The White Horse feeling hungry! Starters tonight were prawn cocktail topping with hot tempura king prawns, and scallops served with black pudding and pancetta. Main courses were slow cooked shoulder of lamb, salmon steak in Thermidor sauce, and halibut in champagne cream sauce. All the main courses are accompanied by dauphinois potatoes, mixed green vegetables and chips (and extras are always offered). We all chose affogato for dessert - espresso coffee and a liquor of your choice served over vanilla ice cream accompanied by an Italian almond biscuit with a chocolate cream filling. Another excellent meal, thank you Michael, Elaine and all your staff!

   This pub was recommended to me by a nephew of mine and I'm so glad I took it up! The White Horse Inn is located in a gorgeous little village near Retford and is definitely worth a visit. The staff are friendly and informative and work in a quaint old English setting with low beams and even lower door frames! The range of beers and wines is excellent and something for everyone. Where it comes into its own is when you go through to the restaurant. The menu is simply fantastic and the quality of each dish we tried was magnificent! My wife and I have eaten at some of the best restaurants in the world, including the Ritz in London and Gordon Ramseys in Las Vegas. I can easily say that the quality and range on offer at the White Horse was as good as anything they could muster! I'm shocked that they haven't got a Michelin star above the door, but there's time yet!!

   Unfortunately I don't have any pictures but I can assure you, you will not be disappointed at visiting this place. From the moment you walk in until you leave, you are welcomed and looked after. The food was far more than what you may think because I thought pub food, however the food was deserving of some expensive restaurants I have visited. We will be back to try the seafood platter we saw someone have.... Thank you for making us feel welcome and for keeping our drinks topped up!

   We have not been in the White horse restaurant before, but a friend of ours was impressed. We were very impressed indeed. Not only a top quality food, but top quality service as well. We felt treated as individuals rather than a number, and this is very important. Most restaurants treat clients as numbers are not interested in quality or service. We will be back.
