   Stopped off today for a spot of lunch before I grabbed the train. It is a lovely place. Service was very friendly and efficient. The steak and ale pie was to die for! Thank you so much!

   Today was my first meal out after recently being told to stay away from all fish and shell fish. Nerves were extreme. . . . But the service we received today eliminated my worries. I asked if the fryers were separate for fish to other foods ....and yes they usual are .... unfortunately today they had used both so couldn't guarantee and cross contamination. The serve even double checked and even looked to see if they had a mini fryer they could use. Things like that you will always remember. Decided on pasta dishes and cheesy garlic bread (other half enjoyed his chips) Absolutely amazing meal out.

   We called in for lunch and the pub is beautiful with a good outdoor garden. The food came quickly, we enjoyed the cheese garlic bread but not the sharing board we didn't like. The bread/crisp was rock hard so we left it. Please consider changing that part of the dish. I would have said something but noone asked us if we enjoyed the food. I'd go back again and choose something different.

   Arrived without booking with a large group, staff found use an area without issue, they welcomed the dogs and said hello to the baby’s. The 2 members of staff were great! Good was nice too!

   What can I say, overall it was alright. Nice food and drinks, lovely atmosphere but some wait staff are rude and some foods in mains menù not exact. We ordered the catch of the day, were told it was trout, I asked what is was and the waiter stated it was clear didn't know what else to tell me. Comes the food and turns out catch of the day was SALMON. Dessert. We ordered CHOCOLATE ORANGE BROWNIE -sounded delicious, and it was really lovely. No orange in it though (: that's a lie, no mixed berry compote either. Overall I brought my mom for her bday and she enjoyed it so that is what matters but yeah. There won't be a next time for me.

   Really good food. Sunday roast was fantastic. Big Yorkshire pudding, extra gravy and meat was very tender. Fish and chips was great too. The fish was cooked perfectly not dry or greasy! Staff was polite too.
