The Mixed Grilled plate is amazing! The chicken breast is more tender than the thighs, so is the lamp chop! All meat is marinated from the night before so the flavour is very into the flesh. Try the Turkish bread too! A basket of fresh bread is served in a good amount with Tzatziki and Spicey Salsa sauces. Fabulous!
Dropped in to The Divan after reading reviews. The restaurant is nice and close to the town centre. The staff welcomed us in and this is their major strength, it was like being welcomed to a family meal. The waitresses were attentive to what we wanted and friendly. We had the Set meal for 4 which was amazing. Starting with a Cold and then Hot Mezze (it is easy to fill up on the appetiser) and then a platter of mixed grilled kebabs with sides. I felt like I was ready to explode. To sweeten the palette, a piece of Baklava which was just right to end a delightful experience. To the staff - Thank you for a meal I won’t forget.

Pros - The bread selection at the restaurant was commendable, freshly baked options that were a delight to the palate. - Several menu items stood out for their flavor and quality, indicating that the kitchen has some strong offerings. Cons: - Unfortunately, the experience was marred by less-than-stellar service. The staff seemed disorganized and at times unprofessional. - There was an issue with billing accuracy, which is a basic expectation for any dining establishment. We were provided hand written bills and demanded cash. - The staff's demeanor came off as overly demanding, which can be uncomfortable for guests. - Additionally, the pricing felt exorbitant for the value received, making it difficult to justify a return visit. Final Verdict: While there are some culinary highlights, particularly the bread and select dishes, the negatives in service and pricing significantly detract from the overall experience. Diners looking for a seamless and welcoming experience might consider looking elsewhere. Also in most Turkish restaurants we visited, bread basket comes free as default.
Friendly family run restaurant. Waitress was kind and explained things on the menu. Happily gave recommendations too. Food was delicious and came quickly. Portions were a good size too. Thank you for making us feel so welcome, 10/10 service.
Fantastic Turkish/Mediterranean food and great service! It was my second time at The Divan and it was as good as the first- great food and large portions and the staff are incredibly welcoming. We got a free dessert as well, which was lovely. All the food is cooked fresh, so our mains were adapted to be vegan-friendly. There are lots of vegan and vegetarian starters too.
Well presented family run Turkish restaurant serving authentic food and wine. The meze sharer starter was tasty and the mixed grill main sharer was amazing! The lovely, friendly, attentive staff made sure we had a great night. We've been back again to try more and can confirm the quality is top notch.
