We went there last night. I had the meat pie. I expected a decent portion. Maybe an eighth of an 8" pie? The portion I received I could have eaten in two. Well maybe three bites? All my fellow diners and others had decent looking meals. The cost was £15. I think the profit margin on this was about £13. I would recommend that nobody goes for the pie. There were two other types of pie which I assume will be the same. But as I said everything else looked good. The venue is Top Notch.

The sunday roast was delicious! The staff was attentive and I always love walking in, really love the front of the building. I think they may have added more light inside which makes a big difference to the feel, looks a lot more inviting now!

We’ve spent a few days in Yorkshire and had our last meal in Long Can Hall. I’m so pleased we did, the best meal we’ve had all week by far. Beautiful building, lovely atmosphere, super friendly staff, and utterly delicious food. Sadly we were too full to sample the dessert menu! Wish I could move up from Cambridge so we could eat there regularly. Can’t recommend it highly enough.

Lovely food, really nice staff. We’ve been three times in the last couple of weeks. The food is first class. The prices are reasonable, in particular the drinks. We like our meats very well cooked, and the beef here is slow cooked over a long time and you can separate the beef by just prodding it with the end of your knife. We cannot find beef like this anywhere else in Halifax, and the portions are quite big. The Sunday lunch roast dinner is brilliant, and you can have a small roast for a tenner but there was still plenty of food on the plate, including a beef steak over half inch thick! We have booked Xmas fayre lunch for the extended family. While they serve food daily, if you only eat out at lunchtime, they are open Friday-Sunday for lunch.

Stunning building... friendly service. My food wasn't great and rather overpriced but my friend chose differently and she said it was great and good value. Guess I chose the wrong thing.!

We had a family meal at Long Can Hall on Boxing Day. Becky and team were really helpful in accommodating 19 of us at relatively short notice and we even had the snug, a private room! No deposit was needed just the pre-orders for starters and mains. Food was delicious, all plates were emptied and everyone- even the fussy eaters!- commented on how lovely the food had been. After dinner a few of us had a couple of drinks by the roaring fire in the main bar. Will come back again.

Our first visit yesterday for Sunday lunch & I can hand on heart say it was the best I've ever had. The beef was slow cooked to perfection, the Yorkshire puddings were HUGE & gravy so rich & delicious. The veggies we're full of flavour. Long Can Hall itself is steeped in history & truly is a hidden gem. We will definitely be returning very soon. YOU NEED TO TRY THIS PLACE ♥️

A lovely place with a beautiful setting. We came here for Fathers Day this year and the meal was absolutely incredible. The beef we had on our roast had been slow cooked for 12 hours and you could really tell because it just melted in your mouth! The staff are professional and friendly too, it’s a really welcoming setting and it’s got a real homely feel. We will definitely be back!
