   Lovely pub only stopped the one night and was very bizarre so feel wouldn't be a standard review. We were previously told a live band would be performing on the night of booking and during a comfirmation call was also told of a large booking in restaurant so to ease pressure I changed time of restaurant booking for an earlier slot glad we did as when party turned up waiting staff very busy obviously and we were left no desert offered and a long wait for drinks so decided to relocate to bedroom that was directly above music "very loud" evening meal starter and main very nice service great room very nice eventually slept really well. Breakfast was ok not best overcooked bacon and mushrooms that was a shame. I would stop again but not with band or large booking. Has stated would be different experience on another time just a shame for quiet romantic break.

   A fantastic experience at The Devonshire Arms. The atmosphere is luxurious yet very relaxed and cozy. I had a wonderful stay! I not only had a delicious meal here, but also slept wonderfully. The room was luxurious, spotlessly clean, and very quiet. The service was excellent from start to finish, and the breakfast the next morning was the perfect finishing touch. Highly recommended for a moment of complete relaxation.

   I honestly don’t know where to start! Me and my family have been coming here for years, all celebrations including big functions for my brothers cricket team and it has always been impeccable! My family decided to book for my 21st birthday meal and as a present the Robyn Loxley suite was booked for me and my partner to stay the night. The suite was absolutely beautiful, spacious, unbelievably clean and beautifully decorated. The thought and little details that go into the suite are stunning and anyone debating booking it you will not be disappointed! Onto the food, every time we have eaten here it has always been amazing but last night was absolutely unreal. We had 20+ people in our booking and every single dish came out on time, fresh and absolutely divine! Every single member of staff was absolutely lovely and made my night so so special, I really will remember this night forever. Thank you to John, his family and all the staff!

   Stayed in the hotel for two nights. My room, Bloom, was excellent. Beautifully furnished. Slept well with no disturbances or noticeable road noise. I had two evening meals which were excellent. The bar staff and serving staff were friendly and efficient. The owner was on duty for my first breakfast and again for my second evening meal. She chatted easily to her customers and went out of her way to see everyone was happy. My final bill with accommodation, meals and wine was well worth it. Couldn’t fault anything. Would I stay again, you bet I would. My third night away was staying in a similar size hotel in Northamptonshire where I have often stayed before and have been more than happy. This time The Devonshire Arms had set a standard which couldn’t be matched. I’ll find a reason to stay again.

   A beautiful, gem of a place. Went here for a meal on Sunday. We ordered the sharing platter. Wow!! All the food was cooked to perfection and the meat selection really hit the spot. Staff were absolutely amazing, very attentive, polite and friendly. Service was super quick. The place itself was charming with a well balanced mix of contemporary and character design. Good amount of parking to the side and in a lovely village setting. We didn't have the opportunity to stay in the hotel but I've no doubt it's as well managed as the rest of this establishment. Thanks for a lovely afternoon!!

   AMAZING place, what a find, rooms are tastefully furnished, extremely clean and fresh, comfortable and have everything you would need and more. We dined in the restaurant for Sunday lunch and breakfast the following day. Food was absolutely delicious, well seasoned. I had the nut roast which was the best I've ever tasted, (in fact I'd like the recipe!) Vegetables tasted fresh and cooked to perfection. Every member of staff we met from the housekeeping ladies, bar staff and waiting staff, are an absolute credit to the owner. Friendly, attentive and efficient, from time of booking online until we left. I don't write many reviews, unless I feel I have enjoyed something that deserves one. Thank you all, we will be back!

   Amazing place. Yorkshire hospitality at its best. Every aspect of our stay was 1st class. From check in to leaving. Lovely selection of beers and wine. Friendly staff who clearly love what they do. Lovely evening meal with nice bottle of wine and superb breakfast. Loved the chopped tomatoes rather than the usual half a grilled tomato you get at breakfast and the sourdough bread was beautiful. Great price and can't wait to return. First class service all round. Highly recommend
